Like I said above, first post on this page, the mag's probably just putting together some of the rumors they heard over the course of the last half year.

That's one of the disadvantages of the print medium and probably the fault of the writers' mentality as well, they try to sell you info that has been floating around on the 'net for "ages".

I dunno, the new and improved Varian "Now I have the same backstory as Thrall, that's why I hate Orcs!" Wrynn is pretty far up there. But, I'll grant, the whole "I'm so emo, watch me pout in Nagrand" transition to "I'm my father, only dumber and less capable" probably has it beat.

Honestly I find Blizzard's belief that one creates conflict via badly written cardboard characters rather depressing. The whole Horde vs Alliance thing has gone from being pointless to being annoying, pointless, and more then a little pathetic.

1) Every piece of story that the expansion tells, it tells it through the eyes of the player, meaning our characters will KNOW it happens.

For the love of god and all that's holy, please not that, anything but that! I don't know if I can deal with another expansion where the bad guy (Garrosh? Nah, too stupid to be bad per se, it'll have to be a Prestor) shows up at every turn, twirls a mustache whilst laughing evily, and says "You amuse me, mortal, even though I could kill you with a glare I'd rather let you live long enough to get enough phat lewt and come kill me! Diabolical plan, no?""

Let me remind people that this came from an APRIL edition of the magazine. I am sure that its a prank. Anywho, on to the more concrete facts elsewhere in the front page post....

WOOT! Auto-greed on frozen orbs means no more ninjas. You better get to ninjaing those orbs between now and when 3.3.3 drops. Otherwise you will have to actually hope the RNG is on your side.

In fact I see only one possible hint that Thrall "may" become the guardian.

Remember that to make Med'an a guardian the members of the council gave him their powers
- power of a shaman
- power of a mage
- power of a paladin

All this is speculation, but "maybe" after Med'an's demise Thrall is someway designed to be the new guardian because he's bound to the elements and cata is all about elements. And the council give him the power of a mage too

That would explain why we would be able to play an orc mage in the Xpack

But as I said before it's highly unlikely and i still believe that med'an will be the Guardian for quite a time. Same for Cairne, his assassination is highly unlikely. I still believe these are complete rumors

I can just imagine the scene. Garrosh walks in with 10-20 traitorous non-tauren horde while the whole Tauren race watches. He walks up to Cairne and executes him. Cairne Reincarnates. Thunder Bluff Bloodlusts.

that scenario will make the tauren leave the horde and declare themselves nuetral, I say Garrosh better have plenty of guards everyone, even when he takes a dump, because if Cairne is Dead, it's OPEN SEASON ON GARROSH, Saurfang for Warchief!!

I love the Varian lore, He doesn't hate all the Orcs, and he doesn't hate the entire horde, or else why would have a Belf rogue as one of his bodyguards. Varian Hates Garrosh very much, they even crossed swords in Dalaran during the Dialogue of 3.1, and in Fall of the Lich King, he made sure no one would attack Saurfang the Elder after the Alliance Defeated Deathbringer Saurfang. It is a preview of who Varian would rather deal with, once Thrall is no longer warchief.

We know that a SINGLE HORDE SHIP meets an Alliance pack of ships, so Thrall is inside that SINGLE HORDE SHIP.

Why would you even post something like this? It has been CONFIRMED since blizzard annouced Cataclysm that Worgens are alliance. So you are very very wrong.

He is still captured and referred to as "cargo". He wasn't leading the ship, but more like doing something in secret.

About the "Thrall becoming the next guardian", i know that that isn't true. Me'dan ill be the new guardian. You can allready read alot of the Cataclysm lore on wowwiki.com. Thrall will be his trainer in the arts of shamanism.

I actually think that most of the things told in this magazine aren't true.

what did Cairne do :'( the forsaken get to lead a revolt and kill hundreds of horde but sylvanas is still alive, not fair! The only cool thing is he comes back all jedi style in desolace...maybe. But seriously i hope the tauren respond to this and leave orgrimmar for the orcs and trolls...they can try defending it without us...

Cairne probably secretly works close to nightelves in regards to fixing desolace after garrosh delcare war on the alliance, therefore considers him a traitor, thats the only sense i can make of him killing Cairne off. He probably doent boot the taurens out of orgrimmar, just blood elves and undead because they were previously alliance and he sees no true reason for them to be in the center of orgrimmar.

Guys chill out a bit.. if you go to the thread in the Cataclysm forums that first posted about the rumors there's a screenshot of the something awful forums showing a thread that says "PC gamer fell for our rumours".

All this is is One source speculating (months ago), another source reporting the speculation (MMO-Champ months ago) and an apparently slow news day for PC gamer (now).
