When should I switch to MM?

If you could just tell me if I should go ahead and respec or wait for slightly better gear that would be very helpful. Thank you.

wait til you get better gear from heroics and at least a 232 ranged weapon. survival remains very good for damage for a while. it's only that marks competes with it post 232 weapon, and even then it still takes a bit more to actually consistently beat it.

that said, if you like survival you could stay as it for a long time. really just depends if you are good with it and balancing your cds (like any dps class)
