Most absurd things done by PuGs in LFG - Old World

Different times. Most content was created and tuned for guilds rather than pugs. Today it's the other way around.

I think most content was unknown to all players 'till they didn't get into raiding, not mentioning lack of exp/skill.

Never fails, even the 'ol let em die, they'll learn their lesson trick doesn't work. I guess OOM in /p means something else these days as well.

Indeed it does. You should learn the what the abbreviations mean
AFK: Attack, fight, kill! Healer is bored with spamming hots.
WTF: Way to fight! Healer loves you for pulling with pyroblast.
OOM: = Out Of Mobs! Healer needs a challenge.

Personally I haven't done many old world dungeons (not past SM at least), so I don't have many stories. But usually the DPS are trigger-happy, and people doesn't know what the f*ck to do, but that's about it. Nothing really special have happened to me during these instances

The most fun I've had was doing Stockades when a druid tank arrives, and insists that he can tank better in cat form. As soon as the dungeon CD ran out, which it did because we took forever seeing as tank can't hold aggro, we kicked him for a brand new druid who let us complete the place in just a few minutes.

In RFD a hunter uses his axe to dps with no pet around

Me: why are you meleeing man use your range weapon
Hunter: my gun is bad i do moar with my axe
Me: lol wut?
Hunter: i hit 100 with axe
Me: and where is you pet
Hunter: it died

after that point other group members started to tell him to use his range weapon, the pet is still dead he goes...

Hunter: OMFG NOOOBS I SAY MY GUN IS BAD RETARDS I DO MORE DPS THAN ALL WITH MELE

Needles to say he got kicked asap. The next day i was doing SM Cathedral and that hunter was there again i guess he got an upgrade cuz he was using his range wep and he learned how to rez the pet but than again before we cleared the mobs on either side of Mograine he pulls the boss with all the damn mobs and after the wipe blames the tank and the healer for being "NABZ"...

I just have random macro's of different languages to hit when people ask me questions. I never actually answer anything outright. Oh btw I'm that paladin tank, that just keeps pulling mobs, cause I learned seal of light + judgement of light means my healer isn't actually doing anything. Up until WoTLK instance, I was most damage done, most healing done (if I had meleer's), and most damage taken in 90% of the instances I ran.

Best instance ever, was some hunter, mage, rogue all from the same guild started pulling while I put out buffs and promptly died because the healer said afk, and I didn't feel like popping lay on hands to aoe tank what they had pulled. Then begged to get rezzed so myself and the healer started clearing the rest of the instance, the dps didn't run back in till 20 minutes later right before we killed the last boss. Needless to say the hunter was po'd when I linked Hurricane had dropped from the trash. And the rogue threw a shit fit when we linked Dragon's Call dropped in the same run. I saw them again two days later and made sure all I spoke was M.Chinese. They promptly started to bitch about me to the healer who was actually on the 5th random straight with me. Well needless to say this time when they died they ran back in. I had purposely DI'd the healer mid pull because they started with the most annoying all caps speaking for the healer to vote to kick the obvious chinese farmer. That he was ruining some servers economy by letting me level.

Best part of WoW is to screw with the bads.

To be fair, I often play dungeons and watch series/play online poker at the same time. it has happened to me before i was healing all the instance until i finally read some of the party chat "you're supposed to dps, bla bla", forgot it's actually possible to be selected to dps when u choose healing/dps.

TL;DR version: thanks for boosting me and ppl like me while semi afking through instances.

Worst Hunter ever: He was meleeing, would drink to get mana, and was in aspect of the cheeta the whole time.

The only story I can think of right now was a Wailing Caverns run with my Mage.
There was this really wierd Enh Shaman that constantly switched between healing, melee and ele and said something like "I am more a Person who wants to be strong and not Protecting people, and I don't like the middle tree because my weapon is bad" all this with horrible grammar and no punctuation.
Was just really arkward.

Also, I wondered about how people can't seem to reach the dps of any of my dps chars, I normaly have 50% overall group damage and the only time this wasn't the case was when my buddy came along with his Boomkin once. :/

RFD. About to do the escort. The PL says "make sure you all have a quest log spot clear for the escort quest". Then says "everyone ready for escort?" everyone says yes. So we start the escort and the priest says "WTF!" "[expletive]" "You [expletives]! I didn't get that quest, my log was full!" and dropped group.

That was probably the most absurd thing, but there have been countless other lowbie LFD experiences involving tanks that had no clue (a lot that think "tanking" means running into a group of mobs then standing there... I almost wonder if they aren't just griefing/mucking around), DPS that pull aggro, healers that don't buff or heal... thankfully by 80 most people seem to have a clue, so for lowbie instances I don't think it matters a great deal.

i know it says old world but these stories need to be heard, i recently got around to lvling my mage to 80 and start heroic grinding, first story is of a huntard in a H AN. About 2 pulls in the first green drops some leather gloves of stamina and of course the hunter rolls need on them, so i stop and /p "i know you dont actually need those", and he responds wiht a serious tone, "yes i do i need the stamina im not a tank so i need all i can get" so at that point i had to check the meters and of course he was topping out at a whopping 350 dps, so i decide to jsut ignore it and keep going. We get to the second boss and guess what drops.... essance of gossamer again the hunter rolls need on it claiming he needs the stamina... 20 mins later we finally are done with AN -_- yes the dps was so bad it took over 30 mins to run it...

the second story is in a pug voa10 yesterday also on my mage.. now my mage is almost full blues still currently pulling almost 5k on toravon,and there is another mage in the same grp in all icc10 epics pulling the same dps as i am,i die about 30 seconds into the toravon fight due ot lack of heals and he ends up finishinfg the fight with less dmg on orbs than i had and an avg of 4.3k dps.. then he has the gaul to call me out "yo other mage u suck u didnt even switch to orbs and u died" like i whispered the healers to not heal me..anyway long story short i htink he was pissed off he jsut got out dpsed by a mage in blues =p /rant off

Best Death knight ever in ramparts yesterday. Telling the tank (me) what to do the entire time, phrases like "Make sure to pull these mobs back" , "Don't pull them back so far, I can't spread my diseases effectively", "Make sure to get the Healers first, we don't want them healing" "Remember that these mobs have a Mortal Strike healer, make sure to heal really hard when the tank gets low". You'd think the guy was joking, but he spouted these things almost nonstop for 5 minutes before we got to the first boss. Sword drops, he presses Need on it, doesn't win the roll.

Instantly. "Sorry guys i gtg cu later"

Tank has to go in pug so he decides to pull a giant mob then drop group happens alot to me.
and i go into SM cath as a tank on my lvling war and i had ran up and pulled a mob <i only cued as a tank> and there is a druid in bear form. i'm like ok maybe he was only lvling in this so i go and pull a mob and he starts putting out taunts ect. and im working my ass off for threat. about 5 mins in he stars flipping about me being a bad tank and not being able to hold his aggro<which was about 30 dps> runs up and pulls the entire courtyard and drops group at which point i go over pull em all and we manage to kill the around 24 enemy mob. we all laugh about it afterwards and continue to finish the instance.

Dude goes catform and just starts DPS'ing... We tell him to go bear form if he wants to tank and in the most horrible English ever he responds something amongst the lines of "I do moar damage as cat", "please let me stay cat", "bear sucks"...

lol, it was in RFC on my horde warrior alt ^^ I was tanking and this lock was pulling a lotta aggro, here's how it went;

ME: Lock, can you watch your aggro or wait 5 secs after every pull?

Next pull, he doesn't do it and kicks up a fuss for him dying;

ME: Well i did tell you mate.
Lock: No you didn't. You told the lock.
ME: You're the only Lock mate.
Lock: Noo, i rolled mage noob
ME: Dude, your obviously not a mage, you use shadow bolt and dots...
Lock: But my talent trees are destruction, affliction and demonology... they sound mage-y dont they?
ME: No, there the lock trees
Lock: Ohh man I thought i rolled a mage, i was wondering when i could spec arcane

I'm usually lucky on my random pugs. It's not Old World, but still the wierdest one I came across was a DK tank playing with a couple of guildies in Halls of Stone. He decided to pull half of Halls of Stone right from the off, the first 3 dudes, two big guys, the massive dude and 2 sets of patrols, OK i'm a fairly good Resto Shaman but you have adds running round knocking out the casters and eventually after some mega Jesus beams I get aggro and belted to death and of course a wipe follows.

Then comes the "WTF, Healer"! I'm slightly lost for words for a few moments. The rogue in the group then pipes up, "noob healer you suck", the random DPS in the group leaves promptly probably thinking WTF is going but anyways I figure I'll stick around for a chat.

I suggested if they wanted to pull the entire instance then at least have the skill to actually tank it. Further cries from the Rogue "Noob" etc then the Warlock said, "he cannot help it, he only has one arm and cannot use all his spells and abilities". The DK says "yeah, i have a disability, don't disrespect". I was chuckling away to myself, biting my lip not to be rude, just replied "not my issue" . Needless to say I was lablled a disrespectful disabled hater prior to us parting our ways.

I'm sure sometimes everyone has come across 5 years old players and possibly their mates thinking its fun to do stupid things like this and act immaturely. The arm comment made my day though.

This is priceless. The worst part as that real encounters with chinese farmers lead to no responses at all, so they failed in that manner, as well.
