Gearing to Tank in NR

This issue has always bothered me until i noticed the gear differences between the Left and Right starting zones in NR. Basically, im asking which side would be better to start on as a DK tank. Right now my gear is gemmed to the max with 24 stam gems, but BC gear has always been ridden with gem slots. I want to replace these BC items with equal stam gear that is more orientated towards tanking. I would love some advice on the quest route i should take as well.

Just get a blacksmith to make you the Cobalt set
