AOE DPS Pre-Mind Sear

I mainly heal, but figure I'd like to try and learn to Shadow DPS while I level (currently 52). 99% of instances so far are AOE fests. What is strategy do SPriests use to still be valuable when eveyone else is doing nothing but AOE?

Holy nova imo, save shadowform for bosses.

You have three options available:
1) Vampiric Touch everything possible
2) Single Target with VT+Blast+Flay, things will die anyways
3) Drop Shadowform, and spam Holy Nova?

Outside of that, there isn't really anything for you to do in the AoE fests, unfortunately.

Get VT on every mob, then start single targeting.

If the trash is going to live a long time, its the same thing you can do at 80 too, such as ICC trash, (except mind sear instead of single targeting), apart from where there are 8+ mobs. Then just mind sear =P

Yes... most trash wasn't AOE before Wrath. :P

You did if you spec'd 11 points into Holy, and picked up Spell Warding too! :P :

Honestly, banned for that?
I've seen much worse than that but no action taken against it.

But back OT: What i do on my priest (Lvl 28) is that i Dot dot dot then spam holy nova.. The downside is that i have to drink after every pull
