We better get some Great Changes or shamans will fail (PvP perspective)

Look! we know our standing right now as shamans, without help from anyone in PvP we Suck, If we are Fighting against anyone who Stealth's we Suck, Totem utility in PvP Sucks, a Shaman without his cooldowns Sucks. Are we not having some problems as a whole? don't we need some major adjustments?

Here is all I ask for:

1) Make shaman Mobility with totems better.

2) not be useless or defenseless without our cooldowns.

3) Have a lot better options for survivability.

4) make totems a bigger threat in PvP or have more Utility.

To be honest I don't care what they do with the flipping cleanse/dispel stuff, just give us ways to get around our problems and I'll be happy with that. Not some hard to use talents like: http://www.wowhead.com/spell=16272, http://www.wowhead.com/spell=51524, http://www.wowhead.com/spell=28998, http://www.wowhead.com/spell=30886.

I could go on for days, but i would end up writing a paper so i'll leave it at that. I just hope for some major Ideas from Blizzard on how to help All shamans, not just a spec every now and then.

I vote you write a paper and go to the official forums. Right now all the people advocating shamans are doing bad in pvp have the reasoning of "BUT DEY BETAR DEN US!" We could use a good lengthy post on why we are having trouble.

Yea we are pretty gimped in PvP. Taking a look at PvE damage versus PvP, alot of abilties don't transfer over. For one, we don't have most raid buffs, or even our own Str of Earth and Windfury totem (this really frustrates me, needs to be DK upgraded).

Also, alot of our damage comes from melee, flametounge, windfury. Flametounge is replaced with Frostbrand, which is proccy and doesn't hit as hard with no spell buffs or spell crit/dmg talents. Windfury does not scale (it should though with our AP), and our melee attacks hit for nothing, especially since we don't focus on armor pen. We use MW5 for healing/hex, and rarely for LB dmg (this is partly due to our lack of survival), and we don't get to use Earth Shock as much since we need the dot or snare of the others, so less dmg from SS debuff. Also, fire totems, searing totem is better then magma cause of movement but weaker, and fire nova is kinda useless since waste of mana and no stun.

All this contributes to lack of burst damage in PvP.

I think in some fights I indirectly do more damage via purge then my actual abilites. As in, one gcd to remove a 5k shield that would otherwise take me 2-3 gcds lol.


My simple suggestions to buff us is make instants do more damage, SS/LL and especially Shocks because these can be used regardless of range, and almost every 6 sec, so the most reliable form of damage in Pve or Pvp across all situations.

Hey Shamans are in a bad place right now. and the truth is our totems needs some changes, our survivability needs some changes and in general we need more things to do that aren't useless or extremely hard to use abilities. I just hope whatever we get isn't just some lame participant award like at a science fair. We need some changes and you know it, hell all shamans know it. Cause if you even say we are in a good place, the issues with our class still stands right now, until i see some decent changes tomorrow or in the future, you can't tell me we are ok.

and Thank you Gunwolf, the idea is interesting, but hell well see what's in store with us tomorrow.
