I played my hunter since I started 3 years ago, attained 8.6k achie points, 119 pets, 105 mounts and got good gear. However, I really hate these changes. Yes, I know focus was announced before, but there are more details known now..
Cobra Shot? So... Nothing special, just some stupid shot with a different number to classify it as nature, yippi a yay.Cobra Shot (level 81): A new shot that deals Nature damage instead of Physical damage. This ability will share a cooldown with Steady Shot. This will give hunters an alternative to Steady Shot on heavily-armored targets, and we will have talent incentives in the Beast Mastery tree to make this a signature shot.
Trap Launcher (level 83): When used, the next trap can be shot to a location within 40 yards. This provides the current Freezing Arrow treatment to all traps and, as a result, we will be removing the current ability Freezing Arrow. 1-minute cooldown. No global cooldown.
Camouflage (level 85): The hunter enters an obscured state that prevents him or her from taking ranged damage. The character would still be subject to melee or area-of-effect attacks, and dealing or taking damage will break the Camouflage effect. The hunter can move and set traps when under Camouflage, and will receive a damage bonus when attacking while under Camouflage (which will then break the effect).
Trap Launcher.. Sorry, but Freezing Arrow wasnt a succes already and I dont see the others going to be..
Camouflage.. Damn I freaked out of happiness when reading the name.. Till I read what it was. Can't dps in it since it breaks it, so 99% useless in PvE. You're not invisible, and it wouldnt work to camou -> walk to some ranged guy -> trap, so that makes it useless as well..
Also, Hunters seem to become a "slow class" as far as it seems. I already hated Steady Shot due its boring way it works, and now it becomes one of our most important skills..
So, the skills, no thanks. Focus, no thanks. But now, masteries!
Pet damage: Okay, pets might work again, if Blizz works it out great Im happy.
Double Shot: So.... We already had a talent for this, it's boring, and you won't ever be "happy" when it procs due it being 50% and most likely rarely noticable.
Elemental: +dmg, Nothing to be happy about, but certainly also nothing to complain about.
The pet thing:
WTF? I don't want this.. I got 2 pets, pvp and pve. I don't want any others. I don't need a stupid spiritbeast if I cant use it unless I spec into it. I dont want ten million pets because my raids needs it, I want a companion that feels like my "Friend", not some "oh hai now you and now you and now you cus warlocks/warrior/druids are slacking".
Ammunition:
Pity they didnt implent arrows with certain effects.. At least keep the ammo, it makes Hunters feel more special.
Rapid fire/disengage/masters call costing focus:
What. The. Fuck. No, seriously. In disengage I love using disengage because its fun and it can save me 0.1 second from moving. But now I wont use it because its almost certainly a dps loss because it costs so much focus.. Come on, now disengage is purely a pvp skill, while I loved it.
Also, masters call costing focus will only make the huntards and dps whores not use it because its a dpsloss and hope more that the healers will HoF/dispell them..
