[Poll] Did you play pokemon for gameboy

just curious, a friend of mine said that most wow players never played pokemon and I want to get a general idea.

I played up until Gold/Silver, collected cards, watched the cartoons, loved it. Pokemon came out in the US when i was in thrid grade i think.

Played Pokemon blue (FOR THE BLUE!!!) for Gameboy. Those were the good ol' days. My gameboy was one of the old ones too so the back of the battery compartment was missing and the batteries were held in with duct tape.. I even had the old link cables. Me and my friend used to be obsessed with pokemon.. at recess we'd sit in the middle of the basketball court (cause the middle part looks like a pokeball!) and play with our cards.

Then I had Gold, I actually got a Gameboy color by then.

I also had Sapphire but I don't know where it went. That's when I stopped buying them. That was around the time they started "branching out" the games to those stupid ones where you are the pokemon and meh.

Its unbelievable how similar this is to what happened with me. I had and old school gameboy where the battery pack was missing and held in with duct tape. And my friends and I used to play with our cards at recess in the center of a USA map painted on the blacktop. Good times =P

Got a gameboy color (7th heaven btw) and silver version. Never started over, never deleted the file, just grew and progressed. I think i had 5 more pokemon to get (i caught all of them, the others were from item trading) before my friend corrupted my game >. I had some realy great pokemon too. Lvl 100 Maganium, omystar, and dragonite, we were invincible. I caught lugia with a pokeball, not great,ultra or master, a pokeball. i capped the yen and had just about 100% completed the game....
Now with pearl i got 10 lvl 100s and a number of them arent legendarys (except for my two rayquazas). that game is easy to lvl ^^

nice, i recently played ruby on an emulator and enjoyed it. ATM im playing HeartGold

still playing it when I got the urge to to it, tbh. and no, I'm not 12 y/o, but 18. Playing Soul Silver atm, Gotta catch 'em all!

I used to play Emerald (though imo the older ones were the best). I haven't touched all of 'em in a while, though... My highest level was the fully evolved Mudkip, level 86. I also had Rayquaza and the blue whale dude (accidentally knocked out the green guy :'()

Gold and silver was my favorite generation, I'm probably going to pick up HG/SS and play it again for nastolgia's sake

After emerald and ruby came out, there were way too many pokemon, I didn't even feel I needed to bother anymore

Pokemon Blue, Red, Yellow, Silver and gold were probably (and still are) the best handheld games ever, after those it went down hill badly i think

I was one of the suckers who had to have both versions of each generation. I stopped buying them after gold and silver(before crystal was released). I did play fire red and heart gold, but I do not own them.

I had Yellow, my sister had Blue and my brother had Red. Then my sister got Silver and my brother got Gold. And then, I got Sapphire.

Of course! I loved Pokémon. I had blue, yellow, gold, ruby, stadium 1 and 2, pinball, the tcg game to gbc, pokemon colosseum, but after that I stopped playing Pokémon. I also watched the episodes, and cried when I missed one

I feel if you didn't play pokemon back then, then you missed out on childhood.

Anyway, I love pokemon still and I play it all the time and I buy every version too.

Hell yah! Played it a lot (Red, Blue, Yellow, Silver, Crystal, Sapphire, Diamond, Platanium & Soul Silver) and (as seen in the list) Still play them
I played them a lot as a child, and I love playing them now. Although I do dislike those other stuff like Dungeon and The thing where you keep making circles and stuff. I believe pokemon is the game I have put the most time in (second after WoW), and its a game I like to play to relax, you know.

Just sitting on Holiday, already read all the books you brought, and sitting there, in the sun: "Hey, lets just grab my oldy pokemon game and play it for a bit". 1 hour a day, and playing for 110 hours total? Yeah, I think my money was well spend

Red-Blue-Yellow-Pinball-the Game Boy TCG game which was awesome!-Stadium-Snap(yes, I was that much of a dork when I was 12)-Gold-Silver-Emerald-Diamond

Red and Blue will always be tops for me, but I keep up with the new gens for fun and to mercilessly crush the dreams of small children who proclaim their "legendary" Dialga and Palkia are the best pokemon ever. We all know that the only legendaries are Articuno Zapdos and Moltres!
