Blizzard Customer Service doesnt look that bad now does it.

Im sure at some point alot of us have had our dealings with blizzard support staff and customer service.

Overall I personally have had excellent service but I know some of you out there have had different experiences.

The point of my thread is to show how good we have it compared to other MMO's and i encourage you all to share other nightmare stories from other MMO's and Blizzard also.

I made an account just to comment on this. All I can say is WoW (no pun intended) that is ludicrous, I have never heard of such a slip up. That is a major mistake which according to the forums has happened twice, GL to all the people who got charged I hope they get this straightened out.

I think its funny that they are not even offering some sort of compensation for this.
Its like they are saying: "Owh I am sorry we drained your bank and you cant buy food, but shit happens "

I thank you soo very much. Not only do I appreciate dealing with blizzard customer support more now but I am practically in tears after reading some of those posts. (*I don't think people being burdened with losing money and having to wait to get it back is funny*)

Oh, dear lord, the humanity.

Things like that break MMOs.

I actually enjoyed WAR for the month I played it. The classes were interesting, iconic, had different animations/stances/proportions, they had their own unique flare...

Granted, the toaster I tried to run it on had a problem with major cities and battlegrounds, but still.

bloody hell that's a pretty huge screwup, and not even the first time it happened? once is bad enough but this is going to seriously hurt them if word spreads, which it likely will given how well mmo players and internet forums, blogs etc mix...
I know that if I'd been considering trying warhammer, this would probably put me off

That is my greatest concern. Being charged twenty times instead of once was horrible enough but the overdraft fees are the real killer.

I have $480 in overdraft fees on top of Mythic charging $284.81 dollars more than they should have. I have zero guarantees that I will be able to get those overdraft fees reversed.

This is a major fail! Realy! This is a game stopper for me!

I read about this yesterday...read through all the pages on that forum post, what struck me most were the people who had been victims of this, but still felt the need to defend Mythic. Most of these people said something along the lines of "well, it's not Mythics fault, it's their billing vendor who's to blame." And technically, that's correct, but then, who chose the billing vendor? And why haven't they changed it after this happened the first time? (Yes, this has happened before, not sure on the exact number of times, but a simple search can reveal it's previous fails.)

I genuinely felt sorry for the Warhammer players who are/were affected by this, especially those who've been forced into overdraft situations to the tune of hundreds of dollars. Even if (when) that's reversed it'll still show up on their credit history, potentially limiting their chances at getting loans, or mortgages.

As for Warhammer itself, I felt it was a pretty good game, just not WoW good, I'm wasn't exactly happy that it was dying off, and was actually planning to go back for a few months as I've just upgraded my PC, and whereas my old one couldn't handle it so well, I'm sure this one could, but stuff like this, well, it just puts me off the game entirely, I'm not so rich as I could take the chance of perhaps losing a few hundred - two thousand dollars in a day over the mismanagement of billing. Add that to the fact that I'm sure everybody who's there is leaving en masse (as soon as they're sure their money has been returned) and the player base will surely be, if not already, only numbering in the hundreds pretty soon. It's a shame I think, as I wholeheartedly believe that competition can be a good thing, so it's bad that we've just lost one of the better ones.

But what I wonder is, why didnt their bank/credit card business managers/whatever manages their money didn't stop this when they saw multiple payments going out to the same place one after another?

I've read a few pages up to now and there's just 1 or 2 that had the luck to have a bank that did that :/

Ouch. That seriously sucks... that's just... not awesome... not in any way.

I've never complained about Blizzard Customer Support service, I actually think it's extremely good, eventhough I haven't played a lot of other online games.

But... seriously... that's one HUGE screw-up! And the way that Customer Support guy(I assume?) handled it... *shudder* Boy, I feel sorry for those people

EDIT: Oh yes, that second paragraph is a little missplaced. I know Blizzard has nothing to do with Warhammer... I was addressing the topic of this title in that statement, just in case anyone was wondering!
