Hi all,

Was hoping that you guys could maybe give me some advice on what I am doing wrong with my character or any suggestions on how to make him better.

I don't have access to any icc 25 man raiding/don't want to do 25man raiding but want to do my best in icc 10

Given the armory link i can only judge gear and talents, which seems to be ok.

Yeah, it was basically to see if I was making any severe noob mistakes in my talents and/or gear. I just don't seem to be able to get any solid dps... dps on a dummy I get just over 5k using FS, LvB, LB * as many as possible till Lvb comes off cd. I know that I'm gimped as ele having 500ms lag but I'm sure it should be better than that? If I'm well fed with firecracker salmon and have a flask active it just doesn't seem to improve my dps either which is why I'm a bit worried.

Gemming + glyphs + talents ect seems just fine!

You mite want to test your dps on the non-boss dummy to make sure you dont get any misses

Get a new ring. Spirit is just worthless.

A new trinket might be good as well. As nice as Abysal Rune is, you could do with more hit. The 245 triumpth one would work nicely.

Also, are your rings not enchanted?

On a personal note I'd probably put the Nightmare Tear in the chest and use only Spellpower/Haste gems, even when it avoids socket bonuses. Haste is awesome. Stamina isn't

Move 2 points from Astral Shift, and put them in Improved Fire Nova.

Nightmare Tear is not a caster gem.
2x 12sp+15stam to activate meta gem, so you can put 23sp in your shoulders

hit gear isnt amazingly rare, i'd never get a trinket with hit on, since u have midnight sun u can do icc 10 till u get muradin's spyglass.

if u have the gold u could get the dalaran ring crit/haste/sp, ofc expensive but easiest way to get a better ring.

yes 1 ring is missing an enchant, each time u upgrade the ashen verdict ring u must re-enchant it, same as upgrading any tier with a token.

nightmare tear as elemental? a complete piece of crap for us, replace it with a 12 spellpower 15 stamina dreadstone, never ever use a nightmare tear.

i see you bought the gloves first with your badges, this is not a good piece hit/crit, the chest/helm/shoulders are the usual perfect stats haste/crit/sp

work on getting the shoulders next just to hit your t10 2p set bonus which in raids will lower the cooldown from 3 minutes to about 1:30 giving u twice as many uses. then you should get the chest and finally the helm, dont get the legs, try get crafted leggings of woven death, if u can ofc again this is quite alot of cash, but its the 2nd best legs for ele shaman, first being in icc 25 heroic. which u said u dont want to raid.

focus on obtaining as many frost badges as possible, this will lead to many upgrades tier & a 2nd BiS belt.

I had been wondering about the abyssal rune trinket myself, i have Ele as my offspec, but i don't know what to replace the trinket with. I have tried switching in an Althor's abacus from my resto set just because of the raw amount of SP it has on it, but I really didn't see a difference on the dummy. I dont have access to anything past the professor in ICC 25 yet, but we are soon to be working on the LK in the 10. Is the spyglass the general consensus for a upgrade to the abyssal rune?

First off, your glyphs are NOT correct, FTW is currently the highest standstill, and flame shock the highest for movement. Get rid of lava (Technically they are correct because you have 4pc t9 but you really should be rid of that)

Drop the hit gems, get that gear, and if it doesn't increase your dps by at least 2-3 thousand, I'll suck off a horse.(GET RID OF THE NIGHTMARE TEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

first off, scrap the nightmare tear, totally useless, replace it with a sp/stam gem,

you are a little over the hit cap, change the boots enchant to tuskers, and swap the 20hit for a veiled (Hit / SP) i think that should put you just about spot on hit rating.

If you have some gold you can craft a few things

1. Bejeweled Bracers - should be fairly cheap, very good item until ICC25 well worth the money.
2. Merlins Robe - not as good as the bracers (if you have to choose) but still a pretty decent upgrade on conquest badge chest.
3. Earthsoul Boots - really expensive but should be BIS for you since you dont run 25's
4. Either the Cloth or Mail Legs, the cloth ones are a little better, but at your level it probably wont matter much, and the mail ones are about $4000g cheaper on my server, because furs are 20g and cloths are 120g.

Other than that, trinkets are OK (dont get the hit one....) aim for a Spyglass off gunship and relace the Melting.

Rings arnt that crash hot either, Sinners Band and Heartmending Circle are both pretty good - one has hit, one doesn't.

Change your spec to have imp FireTotem, wont really effect your DPS on bosses tho.


Try and plan your Elemental Masteries, dont just blow it off the bat, look for the trinket proc's then go for it. Obviously dont wait more than 20 seconds or so, or else you loose, but since most proc in the first few casts shouldnt really be an issue.

GL getting ele gear in icc10. Check loot tables for icc10 tgere is NOTHING in terms of male caster gear unless your using resto gear or cloth gear.

I haven't had my shaman active for a few months now, but if i remember correctly, the flametongue weapon glyph just adds 2% crit...which in his case, he really doesn't need. Crit is our weakest stat (outside of spirit, but that's beside the point), and therefore either flameshock or Lava should be his third glyph slot. I haven't heard a ton of amazing things about the new Flameshock glyph, but with the tier 9 4-piece, either is a toss-up. Do whichever you like, whether it's bigger numbers on LvB or on FS. Your call.

I'm pretty sure Muradin's spyglass would actually be a better upgrade for the Nevermelting Ice Crystal (in regards to the OP), as the on-use proc of the NmIC is kinda........awful for us shaman. The haste bonus on Abyssal is worth keeping over the crit bonus from NmIC, and you'll have a net gain of consistent crit with the Spyglass, and higher spellpower (180 > 111. ^_^) Unless of course you have the DFO from...Festergut(?), which in that case, go with the Spyglass as your Abyssal Rune replacement.

Your hit is fine if you raid consistently with a boomkin/spriest, but if not, you need about 3% more hit in order to completely avoid misses on bosses. Somebody else can probably give you the numbers for that amount of hit, as my shaman's a space goat (Yay Heroic Presence!)

Stack more haste. Go for Hit/Haste pieces when you need hit, never hit/crit and definetily not resi/crit, spirit/crit or mp5/crit items.

As a 10 man raider. Abyssal Rune is your BiS Along with normal/heroic Spyglass (You can only use one). Even if you needed the hit, you would be better off replacing the Nevermelting Ice Crystal since the Abyssal Rune is far better than it.

Isn't that the truth? I personally use Lava (i think? i haven't played in quite a while) mainly because of the tier 9 4-piece, and because i like seeing big floating numbers.

Like I said, using the t9 4 peice? Use lava, but get rid of that 4 peice, because it's awful.

Because of the over abundance of amazing offhands and crit haste main hands from 10 man contant, amirite? ToC offers some good options, however barb of tarasque+ Resolve or heroic hit haste offhand isn't that much better.
