Need help: When to use Oblit?

When should Oblit be used? I havnt found a use for it as Unholy or Frost.

I havnt been Blood Spec all this X-pac, so maybe thats the spec that uses it.

If not, how is this used?

Err, for blood spec you don't use it.

I don't think you do for unholy either (since they have scourge strike)

It's used for frost - I know you want to spend your runes on Howling Blast since it's bigger and hits multiple targets, but the thing is, you use your runes for Obliterate instead. Obliterate then procs Rime which gives you a free HB. Unless you're tanking or there's a big crowd, I don't think you're suppose to spend runes on HB. Just spam obliterate until you get a free one.

you oblit only as frost, its your scourgestrike/deathstrike
the way i normally go is diseases, bloodstrikex2 oblit, rp dump, then oblitx3, pest/bloodstrike, oblitx2, rp dump, repeat last 3 steps, only time i use howling blast is during the rp dump, and only if ive procced both rime and killing machine

my dks only an alt though, i might be completely wrong

p.s. that rotation obviosly only works if you have GoD and spec into, w/e the bloodstrikes convert blood to death rune talent is lol

So... knowing what the fundamental ability of your spec is (in this case obliterate for frost) suddenly falls into the category of being a minor, not-completley-necessary piece of information? Anybody who looks at their talent trees sees Obliterate being mentioned in the Frost Talent's tooltips. From there, it would be a simple conclusion that Frost uses Obliterate.

You use it as frost when you have both diseases present. As Blood you use Death Strike instead and as Unholy you use Scourge Strike.

Frost has a priority, not a rotation and you use Obliterate whenever you don't have Killing Machine up and when your diseases are up.

I don't understand why this class' mechanics escape so many people. There are 4 kinds of DK attacks:

Disease appliers - Icy Touch, Plague strike
Death rune generators - Death Strike (blood), Blood Strike (Frost, Unholy)
primary attacks - Heart Strike (blood), obliterate(frost), scourge strike(unholy)
RP dumps - death coil (blood, unholy), frost strike(frost)

They differ between each spec but the playstyle doesn't change really ever

Apply diseases, blow primary attacks, generate death runes, blow more primary attacks, dump RP between runes.

Barring a few exceptions (desolation giving blood strike priority for unholy, rime, killing machine) this doesn't change. Ever. Stop pretending it's hard or mysterious.

You use FS when you have a KM (you wanna use all the KMs you can)
Use Rime if everything else is on CD (basically its a filler)

And yes it is the proper "Rotation" for GoD spec.
