When we have fail ret pallies, we tell them to reroll huntards.
If he has rolled a huntard and still fails, the next step would be to uninstall.

considering blizzard has stated that they need to make Ret pallies able to fuck up their rotation, I don't think you can talk about hunters.

I have one of those as well.
If he is failing at Hunter, seriously, going the Mage route will only intensify the problem.

He'll stack Intellect and then spam Arcane Barrage and wonder how to find his Water Elemental when he goes to check the stable NPC.

I guess you have to have a Mage and a Hunter to find the humor in this, but I think the point makes it through.

Hunter pets are all damage with zero survivability as it is, sometimes I wish tenacity pets were as good as voidwalkers for tanking.

So... voidwalkers are better pets, even though as a hunter you can SPEC INTO THE EXACT THINGS YOU NEED TO MAKE YOUR PET BETTER AT SURVIVING? With your PETS OWN TREE.

Part of being a successful hunter is managing your aggro, man (for now), and your pet. Your pet is not simply a stat stick, like that two hander you have on your back. You have to manage him. His health, aggro, GCD, etc. You can't just send him out, and forget about him. If you don't like managing your pet, I suggest you play a different class.
