Most far YOU came in ICC25 with PuG

To me it's not really a pug if it doesn't involve some alteration of "LFM ICC-25. Gear check at Dalaran Fountain" in Trade or LFM. A lot of people call a raid that has 10 people from one top guild, 10 people from another top guild, 4 people from a third top guild, and one random a pug. It's really more of a joint raid when you have that many people from specific raiding groups.

Totally this. The people who say the've done full clears or 11/12 - was this 25 random people picked up in trade "LFM ICC25 - need 1 tank, 2 healers, min 5.4 GS wisp spec GS and first quarter Ach"?

THAT is a "pug" as most people would describe it. "Semi-Guild runs" are completely different as (which has already been covered):

1) People know tactics - just 'cos you are on a lesser geared alt, doesnt stop you from knowing to dps blazing skeletons instead of standing in your half of the room going "groups 1 and 2 suck at dps"
2) People dont rage quit after 1 unlucky wipe, or have to stop playing at 10pm 'cos "its my sisters turn at the internet now" (etc)
3) "Normal" people cant get into these - unless you know the guild / are in one of the other top guilds, you aint getting in

OT - last week i went on my main and alt. Main got 6/12, failed on dreamwalker (see above) but went back again another day. I missed that as i was finally killing LK on 10 man but imagine they could have gotten maybe 8-9/12; alt got 4/12 in the middle of the day and probably would have got 6/12 had people not had to leave

Question though, even if it was originally a pug if you're getting together week after week doesn't it just become a group rather than a pug? Unless you're swapping members every week of course

Have gotten to/past Saurfang with a number of 25 pugs, stood in front of Rotface but never managed to fight him just yet...

I've been doing the same thing on my DK for a month or two. There's a calender maintained with about 50+ invites and their alts. It's run by a "10 man guild" so at least 5-7 people in the same guild. There's a number of regulars but the roster changes often enough as there's no incentive to stay once you get the things you need and you know they aren't going to progress any further. Seeing as how they're constantly advertising for more sign ups, I doubt it qualifies as anything more then a pug.

The group goes 8/12 every week, at least.

11/12, Marrow, Lootship and nearly BQL on HC. P3 on LK and 1-2 more tries would make it a kill, but people had to go.

Mainly alts in the pug.

11/12 in 10m, few guild alts and decent pugs, could probably have done LK but it was late.


lol, just realized it was 25m, just as well, I've never pugged 25m icc on my main, always been saved, and my alts gear is terrible so I haven't done it with them yet. Based on my server I'd have a hard time getting a group that downed 6/12.

Im on Kazzak, and i dunno if im just joining horrible pugs, or that all pugs on Kazzak are noob.
But people always leave after Saurfang, and when i have a grp that wants to continue, we wipe on Rotface of Festergut..
I recently applied to a social raiding guild, after leaving a raiding guild because i didnt want to 'hardcore' raid anymore.
But these pugs are killing me, really..

I voted in the Poll a while back now.

In a PuG, i've now downed 6/12 + Minibosses and had an attempt or 5 on Dreamwalker.
Will be doing the same again this Saturday!
