What can I do to get rid of all this damn hit?

Also, Is it better to roll with sanc pants or windrunner's 245 for the 2setT9? I did a few dummy tests and the sanc pants seemed to come out ahead.

go get some iLvl264 (other than getting lucky as hell in vault) and start with replacing that trinket

Replace that trinket as soon as you can, for starters. The Sanct pants are the worst of the hunter T10, and I would venture to say that rolling with 2pT10 and 2pT9 would serve you much better, but as always, spreadsheet it to be sure. Try to replace that polearm, too. There's a lot of nice polearms in ToC, try to snag one of those. Dummy tests are useless, use www.femaledwarf.com

Well, as you can see I already did get lucky as hell in vault. Thing is, I can't really raid atm due to school, so badges is excruciatingly slow. I was wondering if there were some better non-raiding weapon/trinket options, maybe some crafteds?

Erm First of all, ditch the chest - Pick up the LW ToC Crafted one (-55 Hit, Current 390)

Then go for the Badge Cloak as an upgrade (Ilvl 219->264 is very substantial) (-32 hit, Current 358)

Next is that godaweful hit trinket Just drop it and pick up mirror of Truth - The crit will make up for the loss of AP on proc and will actually boost your DPS. With a little farming you can easily have Banner of Victory also from ToC-5 normal. (-95 Hit, Current 263)

Bang on the cap and i win at math. Next challenge? :d

Awesome, this is the kind of advice I was looking for. As for the trinket, are you referring to Greatness as god awful? I think I still have my old mirror of truth and banner in the bank... I've always had horrible luck with trinkets. Before I stopped playing in August, I had finally got the pyrite infuser, and was in the process of trying out different trinket combos, any suggestions? I'll look into the crafted chest, should be within my budget (i blew a lot of my left over gold on leveling my mage alt & profs), might have to farm heroics for the orbs. I've got like 44 frost badges, so that cape should be within reach. Hopefully within a month I should be back in the raiding game, so I can start saving up frosties again. Thanks.

Get the 5 an trinket from ToC with armor pen. It's a good stat even if you're not attempting to cap, comes out far above pyrite infuser when you're hitcapped.

Swap your http://www.wowhead.com/item=45286 for one of those 3 http://www.wowhead.com/item=40684 http://www.wowhead.com/item=50198 http://www.wowhead.com/item=47214 each should perform way better than the current one.

Lol... don't worry... get some more t10 and 264 items... and your hit rating will drop to the ground.... I had the same problem with low level gear.... just wait for some better gear and you will have to use some talents points for some hit rating

Drop your PI and polearm if you can find upgrades.
You can replace your chest too for the crafted one.

The thing with hit is it is completely worthless once you exceed cap.
Meaning it gives you 0 DPS increase.
You can get MoT, which is better than PI because of this.
85 crit > 112 hit (or whatever PI gives) when over hitcap.

I have Mirror of Truth and Banner. I have yet to even see NES drop on any of my toons.

As a gearing hunter, you will be drowning in hit for eternity, and then you hit t10, and lose it all. Pre T10, I had somewhere around 14% hit, but really only 10 since I was using the crappy trinket. Just wait for the gear, and you will have no problem.

do this and you're pretty much good to go. after that you just need to work a bit on lowering your haste, it's the worst stat for the budget atm.

So things have gone my way... I blew about 1000g for the crafted, but decided to hold off and go for the badge chest (I know, kinda counter-productive, but meh) So I listed it on the AH. I got into a PUG ICC10, cleared up to Prof. (I have like 27.5gs with my t9 pants and banner, no ICC experience past first 3 bosses, got an invite due to my ulduar achieves LOL) So I'm top dps on every fight but festergut, lol. I get http://www.wowhead.com/item=50800 off of saurfang, and http://www.wowhead.com/item=50777 off of dw. I'm up to 59 badges, and I got an invite from the guild, for their core ICC 10man (I was pugged into their 2nd group). I don't think I'll have any loot competition,as they don't have a hunter, and I don't believe there's an enh shaman.

So since I've got a replacement chest, what should I do? If I use the chest, I drop my 2t9. I think I still have the t9 helm (if I ever bought it even, don't recall...), or I can buy it. Or would it be better to ditch the t9 altogether and throw the chest and my t10 pants on, I would have 3t10 until I grab the helm. Also, the gloves: are they better than the sanc t10 at all? I just grabbed them because nobody else rolled.
