    lol nice ideas so far, I like the ideas from krasgoth but I think combined it would be a real keyboard smasher.

    I like alot of the insta-gib stuff. makes people perform well and consistantly (or you drop them) Mimrons shock blast forcing people out of the way, Generals blast that needs to be inturrupted.

    Alot of random-ness which each member needs to avoid - perform to do their best.
    Although fights where RNG works massivly against you is hard to design/tune to
    (I remember our first few times in 25 ICC people thought Marrowgar was impossible untill we realised we kept getting 2-3 healers spiked every time, lol. this is workable with communication, but to meny of these random elements would make a fight very hard - but then again in cata they already said they will remove limited attempts /cheer.

    Random aggro is an excellent leveler possibly even easier to do in cata with all health pools larger, possibly with the Idea that the tanks need to rotate taunts for attacks that will insta-gib raid members (possibly making intervene to good?)

    ROFL. remember Blizz nerfed the void zones in OS because they were red and people were to stupid to notice them spawning

    I'd add elements that separated a raid similar to m'uru and had "teams" who had to control certain aspects of the fight. If a team failed the attempt failed, there would be interrupts crowd control and snares required to be successful and the final phase of the fight would be a simple tank and spank reset and harsh timer for a dps nuke or the room would implode.

    Boss whispers you some hard equation, you got 10 seconds to solve it and the answer is how much spells you can spam next 10 seconds. You cast too much or too less spells - raid blows up.

    Seriously, just to "win" at this boss encounter, you'd have to not turn your head away and watch it whole. Zooms on the scene every ten secs or so.
    Adds would spawn in the end as well, and you'd be awarded the title "Voyeur".

    Id tune the boss as a hardmode 25 man but only allow a 10 player raid to engage the encounter. Then id pop a chair out of my magical GM ass and watch the chaos unfold.

    always focus on making it hard mechanic wise, less gear wise. this way it's harder to overgear and faceroll material.

    Well Heroic Lich King is Heroic Lich King because he is the boss of this entire expansion. Lore wise he is possibly the most important figure in all of franchises. So of course he is going to be super awesome.

    Heroic modes are made for the skilled and geared players. If you can't down them, maybe your not as geared or skilled as you think.

    i think all this is stupid. Fights done need to be based around interupts/silences adds fire w/e. Fights need to be based around ability and gear. For instance patchwerk, its an easy fight sure as long as you walked in there in 25 man gear with 15 or so good players. but walk in there with 25 d-bags in greens and i promise you were never getting it done. But as those d-bags got epics and such even tho they were stupid they overgeared it which is how its meant to be.

    I love the people who complain about things being to easy. Actually i would love the OP to link his armory so we may all see hes only been thru like first 5-6 bosses on 10 man regular. I never see the guy from FTH or paragon or anything complain about this crap and now they have made it so hard that its a complete joke and top notch guilds waste tons of time doing nothing. Gearing alts failing to lag/dc all of this crap i stupid. Stop complaining bc you can walk into icc 10 man with almost all 264 gear and kill like 7 bosses(here's your cookie). Do i think the fights are terribly hard ofc not. Are they meant that way, sure are!!! Stop complaining about fights being easy bc the fact is they are not. They are meant to walk in and wipe a few times. Not after 100 tries and gear way above what it should be.

    Again i dont want to hear anymore crying from "shitbads" in guilds who havent done anything. If you think this crap is so easy link your armory so we can make fun of u. Nothing is wrong with hardmodes now. Sure the creation of new hardmodes is a great idea but thats not the intention to this thread really. Its to down play all the encounters out there now.

    It wasn't a bloody whiney post about things being to easy - it wasn't a post complaining about the general round up and AOE nature of WOTLK. No I haven't completed all content, nor am I likely to Ever see LK HM 25 even with the 25% + buff.

    It was a post saying - how would you make a hard boss hard? without overtuning it without bringing limited attempts or any other cock-block measures (resist gear, 4 geared tanks needed for origonal Nax).

    there has been a lot of contraversy over the methods used in WOTLK.
    Now bearing in mind they will bring out bosses without a limited number of trys (at least they have hinted at it) how would you make a hard boss... ahem difficult to complete by testing synergy and ability of players.

    Personally I really liked the hardmodes activation style in Ulduar. (speed kills not so much)
    But I also liked the content in TBC even more - it took along time to overgear content and make it super easy.
