In a perfect world, there is no need for a battle-rez. Ideally, everyone does what they're supposed to and you run out with H LK down and 10/10 up (before the mass kill / rez).
Realistically, however, you are correct. I'd say that we need to work a tree in there, maybe.

    Re: "Ideal" 10man Raid

A lot of people seem to think that the ideal raid comp is one without replenishment, which is dumb. You aren't gonna be winning the hard fights, like heroic Lich King, without replenishment.

    With 1 of each class?

    My Ideal, however?
    http://raidcomp.mmo-champion.com/?c=...00000000000000

Melee heavy, with the Frost DK as a tank.

    Re: "Ideal" 10man Raid

    Tanks
    Blood Death Knight
    Feral Druid

    Healers
    Holy Paladin
    Discipline Priest
    Restoration/Elemental Shaman

    DPS
    Fury Warrior
    Combat Rogue
    Survival Hunter
    Arcane Mage
    Demonology Warlock

    Flaws:
Blood pact instead of Commanding shout, so less health for tanks.
    no 3% haste aura
    no 6% extra healing
no extra crit chance taken on mobs
no extra spell hit chance on mobs
*no 5% spell crit* (present with the shaman in offspec)

    Re: "Ideal" 10man Raid

    Tanks
    Protection Warrior
    Blood Death Knight

    Healers
    Holy Paladin
    Restoration Shaman
    Discipline Priest

    Damage
    Survival Hunter
    Balance Druid
    Assassination Rogue
    Arcane Mage
    Demonology Warlock

    Buffs/Debuffs this raid is missing
3% increased healing that a Restoration Druid or Protection Paladin would bring
5% melee crit that a Fury Warrior or Feral Druid would bring. (Only missed by the Rogue and Hunter)
4% increased physical damage that a Combat Rogue or Arms Warrior would bring (Only missed by the Rogue and Hunter)
30% bleed damage that a Feral Druid or Arms Warrior would bring. (No on in the raid except the Warrior tank would benefit from this)

This is a caster heavy raid so it has the best possible Caster Buffs.

Look at it yourself, there is no other way to get this many buffs/debuffs under these circumstances.

    Re: "Ideal" 10man Raid

Im sorry but 90% of these setups suggested would not be the best. Your lacking a key buff, replenishment. Your not killing Lich King without it, as was said earlier but ignored I believe.

    Re: "Ideal" 10man Raid

    Prot Paladin
    Prot Warrior

    Resto Druid
    Resto Shaman
Disc Priest/Shadow off-spec, useful for fights needing slows like saurfang

    Frost DK
    Marks Hunter
    Destruct Lock
    Combat Rogue
    Arcane Mage

with this set-up you recieve almost ever buff and the specs could compete in dps and do well.

And where do you get your replenishment from?

    Re: "Ideal" 10man Raid

Seen a few setups without replenishment, i'd always go with a replenishment class/spec.

Only change I'd make tbh Survival for replenishment btw

How exactly are you getting blood pact with a demo warlock?

    Re: "Ideal" 10man Raid

We rolled all 11/12 icc 10 heroic with:

    Feral druid
    Prot warrior

    Resto druid
    Disc priest
    Resto shaman

    Frost DK
    Ret paladin
    MM hunter
    Demo warlock
    Moonkin

Completely destroys anything icc has to offer (bar lich king, although if the resto druid goes moonkin it'll be overpowered with starfall spam)

    ^ This baby right here.

    Tanks:
DW Frost DK (saccing a little bit of threat for the 20% melee haste)
    Prot Pally

    Healers:
    Disc Priest
    Resto Shaman

    DPS:
Balance Druid (clutch 3rd healer) (also buff city as BOOMKin)
    Marksmanship Hunter
    Arcane Mage
    Combat Rogue
    Destruction Warlock
    Fury Warrior

This build, running just the 2 healers, gives you virtually every raid buff, except for an Improved Bleed, and a second Pally Judgement. It has no demo pact, but I think it's more important to have replenishment than that. You also have full access to utility spells that classes have to offer (mostly this means your Druid isn't tanking so he can B rez and innervate)

The DW Frost tank won't work in Cataclysm however. . . so, he'd have to be blood, or could be blood now and you'd loose the 20% melee haste.

Healing is definately possible, despite not having a Holy Pally. They're not as mandatory as people think. (but yah, they're dang good)
