Care to elaborate? MM hunter is better in every way, if you have another class that gives replenishment.

    Re: "Ideal" 10man *CLASS* Raid

    Tank
    Blood Death Knight
    Protection Paladin

    Healer
Holy Priest (Discipline Off-Spec: a double-healer dual spec isn't against the rules)
    Restoration Druid
    Restoration Shaman (Enhancement Off-Spec)

    DPS
Arcane Mage (Fire Off-Spec for AoE fights)
    Assassination Rogue
    Demonology Warlock
    Fury Warrior
    Marksmanship Hunter

    Re: "Ideal" 10man *CLASS* Raid

Prot Pally (cuz that's me...I'd have to bring myself right?)
    Dk tank

Holy (or disc) priest...i just can't decide
    Tree
Resto Shaman (oops, forgot to say this would be the off-spec. enhance, b/c i just love enhance shammies)

Fury warrior (cuz that's my bf, he's the best dps in guild by far, so i wouldn't leave him out for anything)
    Arc mage
Lock, of any type really. As long as they have the skill, any spec can do more than decent.
    MM hunter
Rogue....i dont know enough about them to pick a spec

Should really be destruction speced, since you will need replenishment.
The hunter can go Survival aswell, but Survival is a pretty weak spec compared to MM.

If this doesn't happen, the game is broken beyond horrific terrible belief and is not worth playing.

There's really not that many decisions to make. 4/5 DPS slots have to be the pure classes, and only 1 healing class can be anything but healing. So it really it becomes a question of which hybrid DPS do you want? Shadow Priests own in 10-mans. They give you replenishment, raid healing, amazing AOE (vilespiritslol), and unmatched survivability. If you want a Shadow Priest, then the other 3 healing classes have to heal, meaning you have to bring a Prot Warrior and DK tank.

I've done plenty of raids without replenishment, its convenient for sure, but you won't omgdie without it. So for me, it would be whatever spec the lock/hunter are comfortable playing and do their best as. I'm all about playing what you want to play, not what the cookie cutters say you should play.

You fail at reading the subject/OP. No Replenishment is not 'ideal' which was what was asked for.

You fail at reading what I said. It would be MY ideal raid. MY ideal raid is people playing what they are most comfortable/happy with. So that everyone has fun. WoW is not a 2nd job. It is a game. Sure, when you're raiding, you want it to be efficient so you can progress. But, to me, it's about fun too. And since it would be MY raid, I wouldn't want someone playing a spec they don't want to play.

I didn't fail at all. You're off-topic. OP didn't ask for what you find fun... he asked for maximum potential. He doesn't give a flying hoohoo what you are most comfortable with. Create a new topic if you really want to post what makes you happy. Otherwise, stay on topic.

I agree with you. But to be realistic, you couldn't do any ICC heroic fight without replenishment, and not struggle because of it.
On Saurfang 10man heroic, I regened a bit over 20k mana (holy paladin) from replenishment, that's about 3 full pleas. 3 full pleas = a 45 second window where the tank + the mark you are healing have a 100% higher chance to die.

If you were to make YOUR ideal raid, with everyone liking the spec they play, you should really find someone who enjoys playing a spec with replenishment.

I'd say one of every class, duelspecced for functionality
