    Professor help!

this is in relation to 10 man professor. Our guild is a mainly 10m group and have killed professor before, but we have recently had a shuffle in the main raid group and now have a few less players that have done the fight trying to progress. All seems to run fine until about 50-60% where we end up having someone targeted by green slime, a slime puddle thrown at that person and then to cap it off malleable seems to almost 90% head that way as well. we usually lose 2-3 members in this, and was wondering how, if at all this is avoidable. The dps is fine with all the dps easily hitting 8.5k on festergut/rotface style fights (10 man buffs) and myself (abom tank) and the MT for p 1-2(feral druid) have no problems with the tanking/slime eating side of things. Our healer compo is Holy pal disc priest and resto shaman. Any tips would be appreciated.

Move the professor to the person who gets targeted by the volatile ooze, he won't throw malleable goo or ooze puddles at people in his melee range.

Hug the green ooze regardless of target!

    clarification:
just hug the ooze as soon as it spawns. dont bother waiting for it to choose a target, just hug it Asap

this may be what has been the problem. when we initially killed him i was a tad sketchy on ooze drinking and we were moving the boss to the middle so the slime would be centralised and easier to eat. thanks for that

This works too, but it takes a bit of extra coordination because you need to make sure everyone gets knocked back in roughly the same direction.

It sounds like your raid is getting too stacked up during the Volatile Ooze spawns. Maybe some of these ideas will be useful:

1.)Try and make sure that the melee DPS are not all stacked on top of each other, since that will dramatically increase the chance a slime puddle will spawn under them.
2.)Ranged DPS and healers also need to spread out, even though this will put some of them closer to the ooze spawn. Classes such as warlocks, mages, hunters, and paladins all have abilities which will delay or redirect the ooze, creating a lot of extra DPS time and keeping damage to a minimum. Making use of these has often saved the raid from a potential wipe (at least from what I have seen).
3.)Though not really a preventative measure, the person controlling the abomination should make any slime puddles near immobilized players a priority, just to try and decrease the damage they receive.

I hope some of this was useful.

this isnt a problem. the slime dies before it has enough time to hit a second person. Is it viable to stack on the green slime, i just can see a lot of hurt thats all

    1. Try and make sure melee dps are not stacked *Previous Poster*
    2. Ranged DPS and Healers spread out. *Previous Poster*
    3. Abomination needs to be on his toes and any slime pool near the raid is top priority.
Mainly from your description this all also seems maybe like a bit of bad luck. The possibility of a slime pool landing on someone, at the same time as an ooze targetting them and a malleable goo? Wow. Thats unlucky. And thats an understatement.
