Gearing up a DK tank

Hi, I just leveld my alt to 80 this weekend and I´ve been farming heroics ever since.

I already bought every item there is in the Triumph vendor and i have 4/5 t9(Not going for 5/5 since i have better shoulders).
I currently have 4.4k gearscore and I really don't see how I can improve my current gear without raiding, but I don't have the gear to raid, so it's a circle.
I realize that i'm missing some enchants.
As soon as i get a good 2Hander i will respecc blood for tanking.
Any feedback appriciated

What can I do to improve my gear and eventually start raiding ICC?

There are a lot of upgrades for you in ToC heroic and the new ICC heroics. On your armory page you can mouseover and item and a button will appear that can show you possible upgrades for that slot. If I were you I'd make a list of upgrades attainable from heroics and just run those instances as much as you can to get better gear.

Also, don't forget that you can trade badges of triumph for badges of conquest/valor/heroism, and I imagine there would be upgrades for you from there as well.

get a mate or a Blacksmith to make u 245 crafted chest and bracers

enchant your legs

farm TOC normal for black heart

tanking boots from H-FoS
crafted indestructible plate girdle (ulduar recipe)
downgrade triumph to EoV and get the tanking ring (or buy one off the AH)
Run more H-FoS and H-HoR for nighttimes and Black Icicles for tanking. You want dps weapons for tanking not tanking weapons.
crafted 245 tank bracers (toc recipe)
crafted durable nerubhide cape
downgrade EoT to EoC for the 226 tanking neck

don't gem for parry.

gem whatever you need to get to 540 and then gem stamina.

For a good socket bonus you can get hit/stam or expertise/stam as needed.

If you can get your guild to let you swap toons on the boat fight in ICC10: easy enough to have 1 man dwn/ semi useful for the shield. DK

I have 5109 GS without ever stepping foot in ICC so /shrug... I just farmed heroics and [off]tanked the weekly raid quests until I could get 245 gear and some 264s...

You can allways downgrade for a better cloak, neck, belt etc.

Conquest belt- 28 conquest
Valour cloak- 25 valour
black heart- won't up your gs but it's better, or
icks rotting thumb- PoShc.
titanium earthguard ring from jc
Boots from FoS hc
Conquest Neck,- 19 conquest
bracers of dalarans parapets- 60- valour

that's assuming that you don't spend any frost. Also, go onyxia as dps or tank and roll on the obsidian edged claymore, it's just about the best prehc toc25 or icc weapon you can get.
