So the emails like these I've been getting for the past year or so are just a fantasy, then, right?

In other breaking news, man has landed on the moon.
How joyous to be in such a place! Where phishing is not only allowed, it is encouraged!

Re: Heads up on a new scam

When I actually do communicate with Blizz via E-Mail, the replies ALWAYS have the sender's name as "donotreply" and they never put links in their messages anymore. I wish I could find the E-Mail but a Blizz Employee I spoke to 3 months ago said the E-Mail based scams were a deciding factor in their decision to use Facebook and Twitter as a new means of contacting the player base.

Long story short: If you didn't e-mail Blizzard first, it's a scam.

When Blizzard needs to contact you, they have your Account Info and Phone Number. Don't even look at the scam e-mails. I've actually been getting them sent to e-mail addresses unrelated to my WoW Account. As with all scam e-mails, opening the e-mail simply confirms to the scammer the E-Mail is used by a person.

It's funny: I'm on a 3 month break from WoW and I still get the damned Scam E-Mails. This defies all logic XD
...Ok, time to change the ol' Sig ^_^

This time I'll leave you the Links to 3 of my Wordpress Blogs: 1. Serene Adventure 2. Video Games 3. Anime Please subscribe if you like what you see. As a Bonus, I'll throw in my You Tube channel =D

I get like 5 of these e-mails daily.... As long as I am able to log into my WoW account I just delete them without even bothering to open them. Blizzard is more of the type of company to take action first before alerting the accused party of such actions.

It's not that hard to not get hacked. No sketchy porn sites, and no fake emails.

Oh yeah, cause the people who found ways around the authenticator couldn't possibly make a realistic website. When you decide you can't be fooled is when you run into the professional con artist and find out exactly why the feds have trouble catching them. Its only a short trip from wow accounts to identity theft.

Re: Heads up on a new scam

    It's very simple...

Blizzard will never ask you to give up your personal info. or password! they state it all the time and yet people click on those emails. Also, Blizz will usually email you with your first name and somewhere in there mention the account in question.

    and

Their emails always end with blizzard.com
