    Cataclysm Expansion question

So seeing how the lvl cap is 85, I'm gonna go and say that this expansion is smaller compared to BC and WoTL? Then again, lvling from 80 to 85 won't be easy task so it will feel like lvling 10 lvls again.

Im guessing 80-85 will NOT be faster than 70-80.

Ughhh, like from 69-70 wasn't it like 500k exp or someshit? and then from 70-71 it was like a million?
I'd be guessing from 80-81 its going to be over the 50mill mark

Blizz stated that 80-85 will take as long as 70-80. Less levels, same amount of xp.

I've an odd feeling that with every expansion, leveling is going to get steadily slower each time. Just a feeling.

well actually probably more xp needed to level and more xp given by quests/killing things. so proportionally the same. same amount of time anyway.

Not a question and no, the amount of content is larger than the other 2.

and when you hit 85, you start working on path of the titans levels.

Seriously. Someone bookmark this. If we go all the way from 6.0 to 7.0 and there is never a paid Garrison feature on the blizzard store, I will go to the store, purchase a hat and film myself eating it.

This expansion will not be any smaller. They said they liked the time it took to level 70-80 so it will probably be about the same time. They just made it 5 levels instead of 10 to make each level more epic feeling and to reduce the amount of expansions before level 100.

^ This, who would want to be level 160 when we kill sargeras?? When new content comes out, blizz can make levelling from 80-85 easier (like they have in the past) and overall it still won't be a massive nerf then if it was 80-90. Gedit?

    My experience was...

Each level from 70-80 took about 7 in-game hours of non-stop play.

I expect each level from 80-85 to be roughly 10 in-game hours of play.

    Re: Cataclysm Expansion question

I imagine leveling will be shorter this time around. Maybe a bit more then 50% of the length of WotLK, but probably not much more then 75%. The zones would have to be jam-packed with content in order to support 10 effective levels.

However you have to remember that half the levels does not mean half the expansion (or 75% for that matter). Rather then focusing on high-level zones, Blizzard is putting a substantial amount of work towards rebuilding old Azeroth, to the point some zones will essentially be rebuilt from the ground up. In addition we will have much more endgame content at release, at least double what we got at the release of WotLK and all of it brand new.
Roleplaying, hardcore Raiding, running LFR on the occasional weekend, PvPing, rolling alts, achievement hunting, pet battling, or just enacting an endless series of whims, I don't care how you play WoW. Just as long as you have fun doing it.

I recall them saying in a blue post that the amount of time to get from 80 to 85 will be similar to what it was from 70 to 80. In other words, the amount of xp per level will be increased, but only going 5 levels to get stat inflation under control. I am sorry I do not have a link for the reference.

i went from 70-80 in 5 days without boa gear and around 4 with boa gear. i also played casually (around 3 hours a day or less) and got from 70-80 in about 10 days.
