How can I improve my dps?

    Hello guys,
could you have a look at my char?
I looted Abracadaver staff so I'm going to change the 4x spell+hit gems I have now with spell+crit since I don't need any more haste(or should i go for pure spell?).
What can I do more to increase my dps? Please check all, gear, glyph and specc.
    Thank you

Here the link to my char

    read the faq

and dont sock sp+crit gems on a arcane mage...

why did you sock for hit at all?

im running around with 8,08%hit normally on my mage and im still capped with a spriest or a boomkin in raid

also change your talisman trinket with the Reign of Dead or spyglass one

    How to improve dps:

Step #1: Do more damage in a shorter period of time.

I sockect wioth hit cause 290 hit is the cap( at least all say that).
Haste cap seems to be 1000-1200.
Once I reach what should I do? Pure spell gem? No spell+crit?

    Thank you

    What the?
There is NO HARD HASTE CAP. You are soft capped when your casts go under 1sec with both IV and hero/BL active. Solution=don't use IV during hero.
Chance to miss against bosses=17%. 3& from precision, 3% from arcane focus, 3% from faerie fire/misery, 1% from draenei aura if you're ally=7% hit needed as ally, 8% as horde. Everything is found at sticky, read it.

Well, that's silly. There is a hard haste cap, it's just unreachable.

Also why does everybody but my guild get god damn DFO's up the ass.

My guild got a DFO and then I didn't got it
Though I'd rather have the Sindragosa Trinket.

    Thank you for the help,
I forgot the 3% raid buff, so I'm always overcapped in raid.
I will resocket all my hit gem.
I see that there are still some different opinion on haste cap.
    Regards

Opinions on haste cap? ??? Haste cap means your main nuke has a casting speed of 1 second, the same as the GCD. That's not an opinion.

Fact #1: The hard cap on haste (haste from gear alone) for a 2.5 second cast (AB) is 150% - there isn't enough haste gear in the game to attain that goal (that's 4,918.5 haste rating).

Fact #2: The soft cap on haste is when you reach a 1 seconds cast from both gear and abilities, which is attainable. There is no actual number to reach to say "Ok I'm soft capped now!" It is a dynamic, changing thing based on your gear, what raid buffs you have, procs gained (T10 2p, Black Magic), using abilities (Icy Veins, Bloodlust).

Opinion would be to say "I'm happy with 1200 haste rating, because based on my raiding experience, my AB sits close to 1 second most of the time, anything more would be lost to GCD." But that might not be the same for someone else and that does not mean the soft cap for haste rating is 1200.

This information is ALL in our very good Mage PvE FAQ stickied on the front page.

There is so much stupid in this post, in the OP, and his lack of will to read the FAQ does not warrant a reply from me.

You act like your opinion is a giant golden egg of knowledge everyone actually cares about. To be honest, if you never posted to say you werent posting, I wouldn't have noticed.
