Well, it's not fake, and I don't know why they would create a new icon for a mount that they weren't going to make...

Plus, the Draenei paladin Elekks have already been shown.

No. They definitely said tauren will get their own paladin mount. And in the same thread they stated that draenei get one too. We already have the model for the draenei paladin mount and this IS the icon of the tauren paladin (aka sun walkers) epic mount.
If you don't believe try to prove your "fake/placeholder" claim and you will find the correct answer (i.e. tauren get own mount)

just coz theres a new kodo mount, doesnt mean its ment for paladins only?

could be a drop in one of the new instances, an achievement reward, a mount an npc rides, or something completely different...

The spells for the Kodo's are classified as holy, so yeah, pally mounts. Thats why.

Plain kodo has simple drums, here they will be replaced by totems. Feathers are just for decoration.

Is that to be taken as the 60% mount? I notice it has the small split horn similar to the 60% Kodo's. The Epic Mount Kodo's have a bigger horn and a smaller horn.
