    New hunter pet question

Of course i'm talking about the ones around the BE starting area. If you could list why or why not. I just hate being stuck trying to make a decision.

    Thanks

How often will you be doing these aspects of the game :

    1)PvP
    2)Dungeons
    3)Quests

Its best so we dont make biast decisions. By looks alone though, i like dragon hawks for female blood elves and cats for female blood elves (none for males, they are pretty fugly(yet amazingly hawt!))

I voted Dragonhawk because it was my first pet. Not easy to get at level 10 as a Dwarf.

Cat, can be more effective in PvP or PvE, although it was better in PvP pre- pet nerf.

none of the above, man up and go get yourself a Daggercap Hawk.

boars and bears make the best starter pets tho, since at low levels you still have to feed them and you don't have a lot of pet talent points yet.

as far as looks go (for L10 and below), I don't think anything beats the corrupted scorpids in Durotar tho, and Sarkoth is easy to find

Have to agree with boars being nice, I remember having a difficult time pulling off of mine, even as mm, until I switched to humar.

Dragonhawk breathes fire which puts it on top in my book.

If you manage to teach the cat to breathe fire too then pick that one but it's somewhat hard, I've noticed (mostly from trying to teach my ex's two hamsters to fly and breathe fire. Success was debatable.)

    Re: New hunter pet question

I ended up deciding on the folowing. I wanted pets to fill each roll, but also to have pets that hardly anyone has. TBH since I started playing WoW back in Vanilla, I've only seen people with these pets Endgame, very few times. Especially now. So I'll shoot for these as I lvl up. I already can't wait.

BTW, tried the dragonhawk, didn't liek the animations. And I waas going ot get the Daggercap hawk, but I was reading that it flies really really close to the ground, so I decided against it.

It's actually an advantage in a party/raid. The melee DPS genereally doesn't like big flappy birds because the wings block field of view and can cause click-targeting issues.

fwiw, it's mainly an epic taming adventure (as a hordie), unless you get an escort which of course ruins the experience anyway. For Aly's it's pretty simple, and not really worth the time wasted waiting for the boat.

Get a Turtle They are a newer addition to eversong woods as of 3.1

    http://www.wow-petopia.com/html/mobs...kesnapper.html Good leveling pet

Or get a Boar or a Bear.....and at 63 go get a Warp Stalker

of the 2 choices you listed? get a Cat

    The reason you don't see them much is because they aren't that great as far as dps goes ^^;;
Scorpids: Used to be stupidly overpowered but were nerfed into the ground so they actually act like tenacity pets now instead of really sturdy ferocity XD
Snakes: They don't really stand up well when compared to other pets w/ dot family racials last time I checked.
    Cats: Acceptable dps pets in group situations. (As in, most groups won't bitch when they see you have a cat but will if you have a pink flamingo >.>;

I suggest you grab a bear when you can for leveling and a cat for instances. If you can make it to Darkshore, it could be worth the trip to grab a ghost saber since they seem kinda rare these days ^^ Expect to hear a lot of comments about it if you do since most players will think it's a spirit beast XD For PVP, I suggest a pet with a root effect, like spiders or crabs since they can come in handy.

Get a cat at first, then after you get to the point where you can get these.

    Pve, use a wolf
PvP a spider or a crab.

    Re: New hunter pet question

Pets with DoTs is never a good idea. It's wasted damage if mobs dies before it finishes.

    Anyhow!

If you are night elf, go with a kitten. x2 stealth is awesome. Otherwise, go with the dragonhawk. Roar of recovery is very nice.

    Re: New hunter pet question

just pick a cat till 80.
You can tell WoW changed the MMO for good when players started complaining about the amount of time they sink, into a time sink.

    Re: New hunter pet question

Go with the cat. Unless they changed something dragon hawks don't get their rank 2 breath for a very long time.
