As an American citizen, I have to agree that the Goblin's technology is badass enough to be branded with our name.

Cannot fucking wait to roll one.

Honestly first place that came to my mind when I saw goblin areas was Japan.

Well, they do have that Brooklyn style accent. They are the masters of Azeroth's economy and capitolism junkies. I'd say they're pretty close to resembling Americans.

I always saw Gnomes representing the technological aspect of Japan. They just make really cool stuff not necessarily weapons. Goblins seem more American as they make stuff that blows sh#t up!

Re: Goblins : The Americans of WoW ?

You all know Goblins were modeled off Ferengi in Star Trek

They act the same way... almost exactly.
I know there are blizz dev's that are Star Trek fans because of the references that only star Trek fans notice.

If any race was to be american it would be the Humans. Blizzard is an american company, they see human as what they are (or at least I would assume)

Also, Orcs are very Klingon like, Bloodelfs are romulan, Night elfs are preindustrial Japan, the list goes on...

    US ftw
    rapes.
    murder.
    death in childbirth.
the amount of citizens that fail to pinpoint their country on the world map.
the number of natives genocided and stolen lands from.
the number of people forced into slavery on cottage farms.

US win all the above, europe only win in hot women, IQ, healthcare, etc
    boring stuff

Grizzly Hills indeed looks like some parts of Canada, with humans wearing those flannel shirts and less beavers... Their architecture seams more riminiscent of Scandinavia though. But I may be wrong.

Re: Goblins : The Americans of WoW ?

    Goblins = mid west?

What with the oil, and "chintzy" (as someone stated) pleasure palace. Also western USA was known for the gold rush, wasn't it?

If anything they represent select trademarks of the certain region of north america. Don't lump america into one bunch as that is what I think of when I think about the term racism (yes america as a race of people, hard to accept?).

But, that is under my personal philosophies.
"Believing something is not an accomplishment. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because “strength of belief” is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. Listen to any “die-hard” conservative or liberal talk about their deepest beliefs and you are listening to somebody who will never hear what you say on any matter that matters to them — unless you believe the same. Wherever there is a belief, there is a closed door."

Anytime someone argues about Europe and America on a video game your life must be sad at that. There is no point in arguing over country's seeing as every country has it flaws and were all human beings rofl.
