How do you have your bar set up? I'm confused as hell. I can't find anything that feels comfortable.
Right now i've got 1. IT, 2. PS, 3. Pes, 4. SS
then on hotkey i've got 1. DnD, 2. BS, 3. BB, 4. DC

For all my characters I have the bars set up in rank of priority.
Ex.:
1. Plague Strike
2. Icy Touch
3. Scourge Strike
etc.
My keybinds are in this pic, works fine for me :P.
Skullmaster - Slathe - Duat - Tamriel
Absolutely everything happens for a reason - Omnia Causa Fiunt.
I use IT, PS, BS, SS, DC in 1-5 since they are my most used abilities.
Other nuances, alt 1 I usually have mind freeze but I'll move other things here based on the fight, like the jetpack in gunship or chains for LK. Alt 2-4 are DND, Pest, and mindfreeze/chains (usually chains except for LK).
I use z for Bone shield x for IBF and V for AMS, in all my chars I typically reserve those for potions or survival cds. G is my dps cd button which goes to gargoyle.
Razariel has a lot more on his toolbar since it seems for pvp. Not sure what you're doing though.
um, My keybinds are much different
1=pestilence. 2=trinket. 3=gargoyle. 4=focus strangulate/bloodtap macro
Q=chains of ice. E= Plague strike. R=Death Grip. T= ERW. F=Mindfreeze
G=Ghoul summon. X=Bone sheild. C=Death Strike. V=nitro boots. Z=HoW
A=strafe left. D=strafe right. W/S= Move forward/backward.
shift binds
1=Blood tap/AMZ macro. 2=Lich Borne. 3=D&D. 4=Ghoul Sacrifice
Q=Scourge Strike. E=Blood Strike. R=Death Coil. T= Ghoul stun/leap focus
F=AMS. G=IBF. Z=Mind Freeze focus. X=Ghoul stun/leap. C=Rune Strike
V=Pyro Rocket.
Mouse Binds (steel force WoW mouse)
1= Mouseover strangulate. 2=Death Grip focus. 3=pet attack. 4=pet huddle.
5= Mount. 6=AoTD. 7=raise ally.
Yeah, I PVP at 2300 in 3s and 2s, and this has always worked for me.
Playing a Dk is easy
Playing one correctly is not.

But as Charrge said, really we can't give many suggestions because we don't know what you use, and even then it may not feel right to you. Just mess around, see where you reach for when you try to do something, set that thing there.
I don't think that asking here about the best keyboard layout will help you too much. Not everyone has the same hand size, and net everyone likes everything keybound.
Personally I have everything on 2-5+ALT+SHIFT+CTRL ,WACFR (playing with ESDF) Numlock 0-9 for non-tanking cds and mouse 4-5
No problemo :P, by the by, the keybinds you see on my Drake, Chopper and Horn of Winter are from my mouse, but the only one that really concerns the Unholy rotation is the HoW so you may want to bind that to, say number 6 or slot in an F5 somewhere to make it faster to access when hitting the rotation out.Originally Posted by boazjuggalo

I never got how people manage to play with the numpad ( assuming that's what you mean by numlock ) I tried it once a long while ago an it just felt odd. Although, I guess it would work for low use CDs, but I just don't like taking my hand off my mouse.Originally Posted by Zao
Anyways, whole point of me replying was: how come you don't use 1? I think you're the first person I've seen not use it. Even when using esdf everyone seems to have 1 still O.o
Small hands , I'd have to move my left hand more than I'm comfortable with, and since I only used 1-4 (+modifiers) I only had to move my whole bar one to the right.
and PS: I use my numpad stuff only rarely, that's where stuff like raise dead/ally AotD etc lie.
Maybe I'll post a SS off my (extremely cramped) Interface later on.
Edit: There you go..and I just noticed that I should really get rid of RuneWatch
I use a Zboard fang game pad, so I have something that looks like this:
7 8 9 0 - =
1 2 3 4 5 6
1 - IT
2 - PS
3 - BS
4 - SS
5 - DC
6 - BT/BS macro
7 - Pest
8 - DS
9 - Mind Freeze
the last 3 spots I don't use often
However, also have AMS and ____ bound to my mouse buttons. "____" is filled w/ whatever is useful for a given fight such as an interrupt or IBF or CoI...
i click all my spells
