Gift of the Water Spirit and Elemental Resistance Totem

While it's early to tell and it may change many times before release it looks like Blizz has the intention to give us Evocation-like spell! ;D

It says "Fire resistance" but considering the name of the totem and the idea of Blizz to reduce the number of unneeded and unused totems I think they will be consolidating the 3 resistance totems into 1 (or at least they will try to, they may change their mind like they did when they wanted to combine healing stream and mana spring).

What do you think about it?

I like Gift of the Water Spirit, but I think if there is "Gift of the Water Spirit" why not a gift of all the elements?

Gift of the water Spirit sounds pretty nice, situational for PvP but still nice..i wonder if them giving us this is a sign that mana regen is gonna be hit harder than people thought...

The gift would be unusable in arena, im thinking its more of a 'channeled last resort.'

Probably will do a SSJ like graphic because shamans are just that awesome now.

why would it be unusable in arenas? and they're shifting pvp to BGs anyway but still

IMO Gift of the Water Spirit will probably replace Mana Spring totem....it has the same cd, does similar but better effect, and won't have the hinderance of being a totem anymore....like a better innervate. This will prob be better if all 3 specs can get it, especially since enhance will have to worry about mana more.

Also, it does indeed look like the elemental resist will be merged into one totem, if you check out the spell right after the totem....you see the aura...

The water elemental is considered restoration (restore health and mana). Look at the water totems example.

no no, they are keeping stoneskin and it will be the same as devotion aura (same amount, dont stack)

Hah! It doesn't matter if you're enhancement though - 9% of max hp totems yay =]
If it is indeed 50% mana, it may be a bit more than innervate, but it also has a 2min longer CD. This is wonderful for arenas, as well as predictable and unavoidable raid damage.
I'm definitely happy with the shaman changes so far, it feels like they're fixing a lot of the bigger issues: totem "stomping," defensive cooldowns, PvP utility/burst(enhancement) etc.

Why is it in with all the restoration shaman spells, including Healing Rain, which is definitely new?

For the same reason why there is still shield spec listed under enhancement skills. Old stuff is old
