If they started bitching at me to give it back I would have connection problems and magically DC for just over 2 hours.

I keep a full set of enchanting scrolls/enhancement patches in my bag purely to avoid this. As soon as I win a roll, I slap an enchant on the gear. It takes the drama completely out of the equation, as there's nothing I can do about it should the situation arise.

Even if the roll happens immediately after, I can always say I didn't see it because I had my bags open putting the enchant on.
