Generallly speaking, when someone says an Anime is good are they referring to

the manga or the cartoon? or is it where if the manga is good the animated version is always good? any examples of the manga being good but the animation being bad, or vice versa? just trying to figure out how some people rate anime's, and maybe me misinterpreting them meaning the manga and not the cartoon ???

There are surely examples where one is better than the other, but the anime is the cartoon -- if they meant the manga, they would (or at least should) say so.

Yeah generally if the manga is good the anime is good but like Sunshine said there are examples where the manga was good and the anime was not. I myself prefer watching anime over manga because its flashy and moves............ and im lazy...

Manga=awesome
Anime=shit after the first hundred or so episodes.

Ah yes I prefer Anime that simply covers the Manga and moves on. Shows with like 20-30 episodes are usually far better Anime then the ones that go on for 6 seasons of fillers.

First of all, an anime and a manga are two different things, and when I say an anime is good, it means I liked watching the anime, not necessarily that I liked read the manga. If I say a manga is good, it means I liked reading it. Keep the two things seperated please, because there can be a huge difference between animu and mango.

Examples of good mango/bad animu is Naruto (honest to god, fillers... *sigh*). On the other hand, Toradora! worked better as anime for me. It's a taste thing, I guess...
