How good is this mobo? (i7 bundle)

    http://www.frys.com/product/6207390
bundled motherboard included for about $30, considering processor cost

    Asus P6T SE Motherboard
    -Intel® X58 Express Chipset
    -CrossFireX Support
    -Triple Channel DDR3
    -GbE + HDAudio + 1394

How does it compare to the recommended GIGABYTE mobo to match with the i7?

    They are both quality brands.
I however like Gigabyte better than Asus having owned 3 Asus Mobo's in the past and now my second Gigabyte.
You can look at forums and research the difference and draw your own conclusions.
As far as performance they are on the same lvl.
I like the user interface for bios more from Giga than Asus but thats more personal preference.
However I have had bios problems from Asus before and had to reflash alot.

Personally, I avoid ASUS like the plague, I've owned three of their mobos, all of which caused me no end of trouble, and were the weak link in each PC. (To the point where they would die long before any other piece of hardware would even begin to malfunction)

I'd go with an EVGA motherboard, to be honest.
