The Smurfs are hitting the big screen. It is a sad day for mankind.

I'm a Smurf fan, don't get me wrong. I've studied Smurfology and Smurfonomy. But it's sad that a potentially great film for kids is going to be butchered by the man who murdered Home Alone, then Scooby-Doo (Twice) and went on to craft Beverly Hills Chihuahua.

Quentin Tarantino was penned in to play Papa Smurf's right-hand man, Brainy Smurf... But it seems he's also caught on to it's impending lack of credibility and bottled on it. Rightly so.
