how to fix GS

think of it like recount but made by wow and shows ur dps/hps for all the fights u've done

Recount isn't how you fix gearscore. HPS/DPS are irrelevant without knowing other factors that took affect during said fight.

more gear doesnt make you better sure it helps but my 4.5kgs rogue trumps people with 5.8kgs most of the time cause i know how to play gear isnt everything

Gearscore is fine. It's the way people use it that's the problem. When used as it was intended to be used, there's not a single problem with it ( other than it being a freaking memory hog. )

Same goes for WH.

No, it wouldn't. HPS is dependent on so many external factors it is possibly the worst way to measure the caliber of a particular healer.

Nope, what if :
- you died at 4th second of fight cos a bad pull/bad healer/retard DPS and your DPS was like 1200K at that point
- you were healer, but you had really easy job so doing like ~1000 DPS too
- you were afk, and ppl knew but still continued w/o you just cos its easy and dont need full raid anyway
and i could count the problems for days

these situations will show a very very bad picture of your performance (and just a very few examples why your idea is totally no sense)

I believe most people turn to GS because they want to make sure that is not a problem before even starting it. That said, I hate that mod to death, because it turned the majority of players into spoiled brats who are terrified of a single wipe or even the chance that it might happen.

Oh come on that has existed forever. It just became more common once the means of doing so were made easier.

It has become easier and easier to check to see if someone is good or now through this progression

Gear looks>inspecting>achievements>gearscore

achievements at the start of wrath were the way to check people and still can be considered that way.

People were douchebags from the moment someone was able to say "I'm better than you"

Imagine a world with no gs or recount. A beautiful world where mobs hit like butterflies, bosses have no enrage timer, and you are allowed to be a melee hunter who stacks SP. elitist group is the perfect compliment for gs

you see, when the 4.1k gs dk asked where voa was when he was invited, we knew he was bad (gearwise and brainwise)

but then when I /eg'd him I saw that he had 30% pvp gear and green gems for tbc

and was missing talent points

and had 0 xp in raids

so he was gg'd

low gs = bad, eg will confirm your suspicions

Gearscore isn't broken. It does exactly what it is supposed to do -- tally up the Ilvl of your gear and show it to you.

edit - Ilvl and other stats that is.
