    Valetherion Whitemorn

    Name: Valetherion Whitemorn
    Title: Hand of A'dal
    Race: High Elf
    Gender: Male
    Class: Paladin
    Age: 72

    History:
Valetherion was born to a low-class family in Suncrown Village. As a child, his parents pushed him and his older brother, Velendris, into learning magic. Their desire was that two powerful mages would raise their family's status, as his father was a guard, and his mother was an alchemist. On one hand, his brother showed quite the aptitude for for spellcasting. On the other, Valetherion was to magic as a rock is to swimming. Desperate, his parents had him sent away to Dalaran, hoping that the human magi would find some way to teach him. It was all a waste, though. Valetherion did not get any better. Growing more bitter as he aged, he eventually left Dalaran to wander Lordaeron.

At a particularly low point, with little food and even less hope for his future, he came upon the Tirisfal Monastery. The priests there took him in, and it was there that he found his aptitude. He buried himself in studies of the Light, becoming an apt pupil and a devout priest. He spent a good number of years in the monastery, closing himself off from the anger and selfishness that was in his past.

A short while into the second war, Valetherion found himself feeling restless. He found himself unable to just sit behind the walls of the monastery while so many died to the raging Horde. It was then that he heard word of the newly-organized Knights of the Silver Hand. He said his goodbyes to the priests of the monastery and left for Stratholme.

The Second War had been over for some years by the time his training had finished. Valetherion was anointed by the aging Archbishop Faol, not long before the latter's death. When the troubles began in Lordaeron, he got his first taste of battle under the command of a knight named Morgan Ladimore. He fought along his brothers as the Scourge grew and grew. After hearing of Arthas' disbanding of the Knights of the Silver Hand, he decided to follow Jaina Proudmoore, taking part in the Kalimdor campaign.

At the close of the Third War, Valetherion found himself among the founding citizens of Theramore. He lived there for a time amongst the High Elves, keeping an ear out for word from his homeland. What he heard troubled him. The fact that they had joined with the Horde was rather disturbing, and when he heard that Prince Kael'thas had gone to Outland, and that the Dark Portal was opened once more, he was on the first boat to Azeroth, hoping that Kael'thas would be able to correct the error that the newly-named Blood Elves had made in joining the Horde.

What Valetherion found in Outland horrified him even more, sending him into a despair, feeling that his people were now lost. It was then that he found himself in Shattrath, and when he first learned of the Aldor. He was brought out of his sadness by the wealth of information on the Light that the draenei had. It wasn't long before he pledged himself to the Aldor, the Sha'tar, and to A'dal. He spent many months fighting against the naga, the blood elves, and the rest of Illidan's forces. He was among the force that freed Maiev and Akama and brought Illidan down. He did not rest afterwards, though. He couldn't ignore the call of the Shattered Sun, and soon found himself back in his homeland.

Twenty-seven years after the First War, the Alliance and the Horde began their campaign against the Lich King's forces. Valetherion, however, remained in Outland, helping the Sha'tar clean up the remnants of Illidan's army. The efforts were going well and, around the time that Arthas finally fell, Valetherion decided that it was time to return to his planet.

    Mother - Avellise Whitemorn

    4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
A brother, Velendris Whitemorn. He does not know much of him, however, other than the fact that he still lives as a Sin'dorei.

5a. Where do you live now, and with whom?
Valetherion always has a place to live with the Aldor in Shattrath City. He has no permanent residence at this point, however.

5c. What do your sleeping quarters look like? What do you sleep in? Any recurring or particularly strong dreams?
Valetherion keeps his sleeping area, wherever it happens to be, quite organized and rather minimalist. He has no problems sleeping on the ground, in a cheap bedroll, or anywhere else.

    6. What is your occupation?
Paladin. He began as a member of the Silver Hand and, over the years, joined with the Aldor and the Shattered Sun. Currently, he has no ties with any organization.

    7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.

Valetherion stands at six feet, five inches tall, weighing one-hundred and thirty-two pounds. His eyes, like all High Elves, glow a bright blue. His waist-length hair is pale white, usually neatly-combed to lie flat on his head. His skin is more tan than most High Elves, coming from a great deal of time spent in the sun. When not in his usual armor ( http://i789.photobucket.com/albums/y.../ValeArmor.jpg ) or his formal armor ( http://i789.photobucket.com/albums/y...ValeFormal.jpg ) he generally prefers to wear dress clothing, slacks with collared shirts, colored in muted blacks or blues.

    8. To which social class do you belong?
Valetherion hates the idea of social classism with a passion. His parents were not nobility of any sort, however. His father was a guard and his mother was an alchemist.

    9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
Valetherion is allergic to peanuts, discovered after an unfortunate incident in a Dalaran bar some years ago.

    10. Are you right- or left-handed?
    Right-handed.

    11. What does your voice sound like?
Valetherion's voice is typical of High Elves.

    12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
From his time among the Aldori priests, he picked up the farewell of 'May the Light guide your path.'

    13. What do you have in your pockets?
Various trinkets and symbols needed for holy rituals.

    14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
Valetherion has a habit of chewing on his thumb when in thought, and his mouth has a noticable tick when he is bothered or annoyed.

    Part 2: Growing Up

    15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Not unsatisfactory, but lacking in any familial warmth.

    16. What is your earliest memory?
Being bullied by other children for his parents' lack of magical ability.

    17. How much schooling have you had?
A good deal, here and there. As a child, he was sent to Dalaran to study with the mages there. He didn't last very long and, as a teenager, ran away from the city. He eventually found himself at the Tirisfal Monastery, which put him on his path to the priesthood.

    18. Did you enjoy school?
His schooling in Dalaran was near-torture for him, due to his lack of natural magical talent. Once he was among the priests in the monastery, he enjoyed himself much more.

    19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
Once again, in the monastery. During the Second War, he found himself unable to stay behind the walls of the monastery anymore. After a great deal of martial training, he joined the Knights of the Silver Hand in Alonsus Chapel, long before the fall of Stratholme.

    20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
Not really. However, when Alliance heroes such as Sir Anduin Lothar and Uther the Lightbringer started to become legends, Valetherion revered them along with the younger priests.

    21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
Not well. His parents tried to push him to become a mage, like his older brother. They hoped to raise their family's status, originally poor due to his parents' professions. After he showed little promise with magic at home, he was sent to Dalaran in hopes that they could train him there.

    22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
    Anything but a mage.

    24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
Valetherion gained quite a rebellious streak. The more his parents pushed him towards magic, the more he grew to hate it.

    25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
Valetherion had no friends up until he came to the Monastery, partly of his own doing. Many of his fellow students in Quel'thalas and Dalaran were learning magic of their own free will. As magic did not interest him, neither did they interest him.

    26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
His first kiss was with a young human scholar, visiting the monastery from Anderhol. They had a short fling which ended when she returned to her home.

    27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
The aforementioned scholar took his virginity as well.

    34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
    No.

    35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
Soon after he became a paladin, the plague had begun to spread. The first time he had come upon the undead was the most frightened he had been.

    37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
He would change the way he left his family.

    Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

    40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?

That the High Elves will eventually kill themselves off.

    42. What are your religious views?

He puts little faith in politics after seeing it ruin Lordaeron. Still, he respects King Wrynn for actually doing things.

    44. What are your views on sex?
He views sex as a private thing. Whatever people do in their beds is their own business.

Finding something or someone that makes you happy and protecting it.

    49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
Valetherion is generally an up-front person.

    50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
He does not much like trolls, orcs, or the undead. However, he can surpress these dislikes, especially if they are particularly honorable or vitruous.

    52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
Valetherion would die to protect innocent people, or in some cause in which he has faith.

    Part 5: Relationships With Others

    53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
Valetherion is polite to a fault, especially if he does not like someone. However, if that person is dangerous or something along those lines, he has no qualms in letting them know that he is watching them.

    54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
Valetherion is a loner at this point in his life.

    55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
He respects General Turalyon and the rest of the Outland Expedition highly, for taking on what was basically a suicide mission to save the world.

    56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
Once again, Valetherion is a loner at this point.

    57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
    No.

    62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
Valetherion has many former allies among the Aldor and the Shattered Sun. He also knows people among the Silver Covenant.

    65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
Kael'thas Sunstrider; he feels that his former Prince led his people into ruin.

    66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
Valetherion will argue his point if he feels in necessary.

    67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
He can; he has some experience in leading groups in Outland which carries over to other situations.

    Re: Valetherion Whitemorn

Sorry, but it's too cliche and bland for me

    Re: Valetherion Whitemorn

I generally like it. While I won't use the word "cliche" in describing it, as it's not that common a layout for history, I might agree with the bland remark. While there's a lot of detail, there's no "odd hook" like I like in leading characters.

Don't get me wrong. It's a solid story of a solid Paladin (not Blood Knight, as he became a classic paladin and not a Blood Elf Blood Knight after the discovery of the portal reopening) of the Silver Hand.

I'll give ya props for doing a paladin amongst the sea of paladins, though. It's tough to come up with something unique, which I think you did a decent job of, when there's so many.

    +1

    Re: Valetherion Whitemorn

I don't mean to nitpick, but at age 72, your paladin is not an adult yet. He's about the equivelant of 14-16.
Soviet Russia was merely a setback!
