They're just pointless.. Achievements should be available for content everyone can complete - be it now or in the future. New people coming to wow will never have a chance. If you change to a new toon or make a new alt there isn't any chance to accomplish those on their either. If all it does is feeds one epeen then they're kind of pointless and its sad that people really need to defend their epeen in such a fashion.

Instead of realm first, we will have something like "timely demise". This means that any player who beats a new raid within X weeks of its release will be granted the exclusive title for it. Finally, this would even out the playing field and make sure that it's not only the "hardcore no-lifers" getting the cool stuff!

I think blizzard intended for realm firsts to go to the hardcore people. Why would you want a realm first if you're not a hardcore player?(I'm not a hardcore player, either)

I would support that. I would keep the whiny elitists from complaining about how EVERYBODY has access to something that the hardcore raiders got before things got nerfed. A "timely demise" type of achievement would hit the spot and make perfect sense. Kudos. I like this idea. For one thing, it would make silly things like Death's Demise being available on multiple servers STILL not happen. I mean, christ, its been, what, 9 months since that was current content? And the title is still available? The realm first system fucks over guilds on major servers with large numbers of hardcore raid guilds. There are servers with 10 guilds better than the top 2 raid guilds on my server, but both of us have a solid shot at Death's Demise, but none of them will ever have it.

I think that title adds what little competition is left of this game.

Even if Blizzard tries to please the casuals. You need the hard cores in a game, they are the ones that aid the casuals in playing, carrying them on their backs making strategies/addons etc.
