You guys remember those Mountain Dew robots?
Yeah, chill out.

Imagine whatever I say as being said with Morgan Freeman's voice. It will make you rage less.
Blizzard won't do anything that effects gameplay, but I can definitely see them advertising ingame. I don't see anything wrong with it. They're getting more money from the sponsors, not the players. No reason to object to it.
They've already done some of this, remember Mountain Dew's Game Fuel from last summer?
Yep, just said it. People are freaking out, though.Originally Posted by Kinderwurst

That and the launcher has had advertising for quite some time.Originally Posted by Phil, the Scourge of Lumber
Hmm..
I can picture it now:
There is a thin line between not knowing and not caring, and I like to think that I walk that line every day.
Its the end of the world, MAN!
Seriously: It won't be anything big/game altering/destructive.
you should be able to order food ingame! that would be so perfect
I love my mountain dew warbot I still have tons of fuel in my bank. I guess advertising in game is ok when it's in the form of a little pet that attacks other little pets?
Dinnerbone-because I binged your mother.

I wouldn't mind, even enjoy it.
Isn't this just legal protection for Blizzard until they can prevent the gold spammers from whispering us? Dead bodies in the shape of a URL? All in game advertising. and I report every one of them.
OT: please stop the blame Activision posts, they are run as separate companies.
"Activision and Blizzard Entertainment still exist as separate entities.[11] The holding company does not publish games under its central name and instead uses its subsidiaries to publish games, similar to how Vivendi Games operated before the merger.[12] The merger makes Activision parent company of Vivendi Games former divisions."
"While Blizzard retained its autonomy and corporate leadership, other Vivendi Games divisions did not."
