Logged out when clicking on specific forums

After I log into the main forum, I can click on the Role-Playing forum and then for some reason I am logged out again. This happens on multiple computers, after I have cleared my cookies and restarted my browser. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Don't just clear your cookies, clear your cache and try again.

Hi,

I seem to be having the same problem as the OP.

I'm using Firefox 3,6,3, cleared all cookies and cache (multiple times). I log onto my account, I am able to browse all the forums, but as soon as i click on a particular (does seem random topics) topic , I enter it, but logged out. After logging in i end up at the forum selection screen and the whole thing starts over.

Any ideas?

p.s. the topics that log me out seem to be random eg. http://www.mmo-champion.com/class-pr...lk-%285ppl%29/

other topics don't seem to log me out, but I have noticed this happening multiple times over few other topics in the past couple of months.

EDIT: tried entering the same topic on IE 7, same thing, i get logged out.
EDIT2: as soon as somebody else replied to the topic, i didn't get logged out upon entering the topic.

erm i still have problems inunderstanding how clearing cookies will help yout stay logged in.

I mean arent they needed for something? maybe to stay logged in?

just press the refresh button, i have the same issuses but if you just refresh it relogs you back in by itself, kind of a pain but not as bad as retyping all your stuff in

The cache is different than cookies. When your browser caches a page, it essentially remembers all of the data that goes with a certain URL. If it caches the logged-out version, it might keep giving you that page even if you're actually logged in. Clearing the cache makes it "forget" all of these things and gives it a chance to remember the correct version.
