take it all apart, put the keys in a mesh bag, place everything in dishwasher, cold/warm water, let dry, reassemble.

Take off the key caps, air compressor, maybe a bit of alcohol or vinegar, put caps back on

"Keycap Remover" is the key word

Take out all the keys and wash them separately.
Blow all the impurities from the keyboard and wipe with some alcholol.
    Reassemble.

Every now and then I use thin piece of cardboard to keep it somewhat clean and then few times a year I remove all keys and blast it with my pc duster. To keep the keys and other surfaces clean I use alcohol to wipe them clean when they start feeling dirty, but I do have a slight ocd on keeping my hands clean.. So I almost never need to clean the keys.

    Dont do that.

LTT revealed recently that ALL of the boards they put in the dishwasher have subsequently packed it in. The heat can subtly damage the board, or even just the water pressure from the jets.

Damn, that makes me sad. I've got an old keyboard that's got some pretty gnarly stuff caked onto it, it's gonna take some elbow grease to get into it to clean it up and I was hoping for an easy solution

As other have said, take it apart as far as it goes is the only real way to clean it.
