    Hit Cap With My Mage

1st of all i understand that hit plays a big part of a dps-ers stats. With this being my 5th 80 i am smart enough to understandy why u need it ect... On all my other toons if I am not hit capped I can go back thru my recount and see where I missed ect. With my mage (just dinged 80 Tuesday) I am in the process of getting gear and gemming, and I am NO WHERE close to hit cap ( i think I am 5%) but after running many heroics and VoAs I cant seem to find where I miss. I have noticed that my mirror images will miss sometimes but myself i cant see where I am missing. Am I doing it wrong, or is hit not as important to a caste? I know this sounds crazy but it has got me thinking. Any ideas?

You could just have been lucky in VoA (heroics hit cap is really low, like 3%) since depending on spec lowest hit you can have for cap is 7-13%

Heroic bosses require only 6% hit, as opposed to 17% for raid bosses. Assuming you're arcane you would need exactly 0% hit for heroics, or 6% as fire. For raid bosses, yeah hit is paramount. The raid cap is 14% as fire and 8% as arcane, assuming your shadow priest or boomkin is keeping up 3% debuffs. Take 1% off that for Heroic Presence as Alliance.
