(Reason to Kill Bronze Dragon Flight Leader) Nozdormu Corrupted by the Old Gods

My theory stems from Xarantaur and his Lorehammer.

Story seem to suggest that the Elementals have power granted to them to warp and control time.
Unsurprisingly enough, these Elementals were the Oldgods's generals .

The Bronze dragon flight sent a Dragonsworn (Xarantaur) to handle the problem.
But this whole story line seem to suggest the Old gods have massive power, and are targeting the different dragon flight leaders for some unknown reason.

My speculation (before the oldgod Curse of Flesh retcon in WoTLK)

was that the Dragon Aspect leaders were in some way the Key to the Oldgod's prison. The Titans empowered the Aspect leaders with this power.

The Titans Chained the Oldgods under the planet for a reason. Not because of the Curse of Flesh. But to use them to power the Well of Eternity, as the source of life development.

Each time a Aspect leader is killed, the prison chains for the oldgods grow weaker.
I believed, sooner or later, we would be sent to kill the Dragon Aspect leaders because some of them would be driven mad crazy.

    my speculation of cost :

Malygos = Die because he went mad crazy from Magic energy. Linked to the Well of Eternity, which is powered by the Oldgods's energy.
Deathwing = Die because he been driven mad evil by the Oldgods. So we have to kill him.
Nozdormu = Die because we will find out he was corrupted by the oldgods into being crazed leader of the Infinite Dragon Flight.
Ysera = Die, because the Nightmare would corrupt her. Nightmare driven by the Oldgod's influence from their aftermath.
Alexstrasza = Die in combat against Deathwing or some other Corrupted Aspect Leader.

    Conspiracy Theory:

The Halls of Stone computers were """"H,A,C,K,E,D""" by a Oldgod source to give us false information.
Similar to the corruption of the Titan's specialist left on Azeroth to help watch over it.

Proof, of Oldgods influence in Ulduar
    "Cough" Yogg-Saron "Cough"

    Cool Story Bro

Malygos = Insane cause deathwing killed his clan .....

Deathwing = Yeah pretty much ...

Nozdormu = Not really .... he is insane cause he saw his own death and is preventing it from happening ...

Oh and also, The titans must have warned them of the old gods ...

Doesnt nozdormu control time? So you think they corrupt him, go back in time and stop the titans from containing them?

Nozdormu goes into the future and see's himself die, but he also see's that he no longer protects time and goes on some sort of a rampage

theres a quote where he says that he is sorry for what he will do in the future

The Old Gods were never chained because of the Curse of Flesh, they were chained because removing them would destroy the planet. They're so deeply rooted into the crust that it destroy Azeroth.

Imagine a parasite is attached to your spine. You go to the doctor, but he can't remove it without destroying your vertebra. Instead, he puts the parasite to sleep so it doesn't keep feeding on you.
Imagine whatever I say as being said with Morgan Freeman's voice. It will make you rage less.

before the retcon, this was untrue.

And the retcon only comes from the corrupted computers in Ulduar. <back to my conspiracy theory.>

interesting, other retcons by blizzard removed previous lore. But the Oldgod retcon didnt remove older lore, but only gave us changed info from a computer inside Ulduar by the oldgod.

The Curse of Flesh plot has been in game since Uldaman's Platinum Disc chain. This isn't a retcon, as a retcon changes past Lore. Also, the control of the Old Gods didn't increase when an aspect died...they corrupted the first Aspect before any of them had died. Could it be, simply, that they want to use the Aspects because they're a very powerful outside force? =/

the battle between the Oldgods and Titans were retconned. the Computer and the book give two different lore point of views for the battle.

or we can go with the most probable:

Nozdormu is also the leader of the Infinites.

Proof - The 2 quests you do at the tower where you go at 70 and fight with your 80 self, then come back at 80 and fight with your 70 self. Nozdormu's RIGHT there with a shit ton of infinites all over and him doin shit about it.

I think it coming down to us vs Nozzy as:

Nozdormu isn't perfect. He knows how and when he's gonna die and makes a desperate bid to collapse time Ultimecia-style to keep that from happening (thus, Infinite dragonflight).

Time kicks him in the dragon crotch and we loot him for epix.

I gotta admit I like this theory, and it'd make a lotta sense.

Just get more information for your lore..

It technically never says that they encountered them on their FIRST time across the Landscape. While it may have not been the intention at the time, it is not a retcon.

Collapsing time would kill him, too. If he wanted to avoid death, he could just travel back in time - or not do whatever causes his death. His reasoning is likely different. From his quote, he already knew he would do this. It's probably WHY we kill him (though not necessarily Old God related. None of the Infinite Dragonflight's attempts have had anything to do with the Old Gods.)

Re: (Reason to Kill Bronze Dragon Flight Leader) Nozdormu Corrupted by the Old Gods

Lol, I had basically the exact same epiphany talking to a friend of mine on MSN, lemme find the log

    There we go

    Matthew
hey, you like dragons in WoW
    this idea might interest you
Nozdormu is the leader of the Infinite Dragonflight
the Infinite Dragonflight is a futuristic "Currpted" version of the Bronze Dragonflight
    Nozdormu knows all of this
but can't tell anyone, for a couple reasons
for one, it's embarrassing.. It's proof that one day, he will just flip his lid and turn his back on everything he believes in
For a second, he knows that it has to happen.. He can't fuck with the timeline even if it means stopping himself from turning into an insane Megalomaniac taht is actively trying to re-write history
But, he also sees that he will be destroyed, so he begins training a successor (the only Dragon aspect to do that)
On a long enough timeline, it's innevitable that the Keeper of Time will flip his shit and send his minions back int time to fix things he deems shouldn't have happened
So, eventually, Nozdormu goes crazy, forms the infinite dragonflight and starts sending agents back in time to do several things.. Stop Thrall's escape, Stop the opening of the Dark Portal, Killing Arthas before he becomes the Lich King
Nozdormu of the Present, sees this, and sends the players into those epochs, in disguise, and stops the Infinite Dragonflight from doing those things
The last Caverns of Time instance will be a raid where Nozdormu sends us into the future to slay himself.
    Infinite Nozdormu
There's noone else in the whole of the world of Azeroth that could do what the Infinite Dragons are doing EXCEPT Nozdormu
It has to be him doing it
    the ultimate conclusion however
is that the destruction of all of the Dragon Aspects unleashes the old Gods
Old Gods corrupt Neltharion, turn him into Deathwing, he injures Sindragosa.. Sindragosa dies as the Old Gods whisper in her ear, telling her that Malygos betrayed her.. Arthas raises Sindragosa as his Frostwyrm, and causes Malygos himself to go insane, the Old Gods whispering to him as well.. He curses the human magic he is sure must have raised his consort into a Frostwyrm, vows revenge on man
We kill Malygos to save the world.. Deathwing Re-emerges from Deepholm, rocks the core of azeroth, leads to the cataclysm.. Old Gods whispering in his ears the whole time he slept.. He raises from his slumber and vows destruction of the world.. We kill him.. Perhaps he kills Alexstrasza
Ysera gets corrupted by the Nightmare.. We step into the Emerald Dream and have to put her down for the sake of the world
Then, Nozdormu reveals that it's him that's been trying to fuck with the timeline all along, and he was trying his hardest to stem the flood of paradoxes he's creating by using the adventurers in the Caverns of Time
He sends us forward to finish him off, once and for all
Then, the old gods re-emerge in their entirety
Once we put down the remaining old gods "Inclusding finishing off Yogg-Saron and C'thun", the Remaining Nozdormu who sent us to kill himself in the future, opens up one final portal
Where does it lead you ask?
ALL the way back to the Sundering
as Sargeras Attempts to come through the Well of Ternity, The Adventurers Go through the well, and Kill Sargeras
That act, sending humans back in time to kill Sargeras, is what turns Nozdormu into the Infinite Dragonflight
    but
    we've already killed Infinite Nozdormu
    so
that will sort itself out in time
He just figures "Well, if I can send player back in time to kill Sargeras, I have other things I could fix up in the timestream"
    IN FACT
maybe he HAS to send dragons back
because the destruction of Sargeras creates a ripple through the timeline
and the Infinite Dragonflight are trying desperately to cushion the paradoxical blow that'll hit reality
So, He sends dragons back in time to unwrite some key moments of history, to stop the paradox that exists if those events occur without sargeras
    So in the end
the Infinite Dragonflight are actually the saviors
    time paradoxes are fun
    in the end
    that's a stretch
but it was fun to think about
