Combat might be the best, but it's boring as F.

You should really try sub. leveling, when you get all key abilities like Shadowstep, Premeditation and Preperation you can have a LOT of fun with it. The Ambush and Eviscerate crits also provide happy times.

I leveled as combat quite recently, was shitboring with tons of bandages used. Then I switched to mutilate when I got the awesome ability and I just skyrocketed, killing mobs one after the other... problem is if you get more than 1 :S But then again I used two heirloom daggers. Maybe not the best but it worked nicely for me.

Got kinda sick of stealthing after every mob, especially since it got a bloody cooldown!

    Heirlooms thats usefull:

    2x badge daggers
    2x badge haste trinkets
    Shoulders for badges
    chest for badges
    the bow for badges
and the ring if you happen to win the fishing derby

I did combat with Shadowcraft shoulders/chest, the melee trinket, 1h mace mh and WG heirloom dagger as oh.

Picking really depends on what you want to do at 80. I knew I wanted to stick with combat so I leveled with it and am comfortable with the rotation and abilities. If you know you want to be a dif build at 80, then at least switch to that build several levels before 80 so that you have plenty of time to become accustomed to a new set of attacks.

Our characters are wearing the same pair of underwear, since like, Level 1. Damn that's unsanitary as hell.

So you played combat w/ daggers? Quite obvious why it went better when you switched to muti..

Combat will probably be the fastest, but go Subtlety when you can get Shadowstep if you get bored of the sinister strike spam.
It may mean using different heirloom weapons though, as I'm not sure how good Sub is without Ambush for leveling.
I do my dailies in my Shadowstep>Ambush pvp spec and I love it

I prefer the WG-shoulders. They are better for feral as well, so win-win.

Personally, I considered going double Venerable Mass, just for the heck of it.
As combat, of course. Not sure how it'll work out though. :P

IMO do NOT spec combat unless u wanna feel like a warrior wearing leather.

Re: Leveling a rogue, which spec and hairlooms?

If you want to get to 80 as fast as possible, go Combat swords and faceroll to victory.

If you want to enjoy leveling (BGs, etc...) go Sub with daggers.

I leveled my rogue from 1-80 with Sub and had a great time.
And sure, your son may find a women on warcraft. Just beware that she is probably whoring herself off to get mounted or partcipates in one of those secret guild orgies Pastor Jack warned us about.

    This with assassination/Subtlety dual spec.
I started as combat but it's so boring I started using Subtlety from lvl 40 or smth which also went really well because of ambush crits. You can really kill enemies in a few seconds.
Now (at lvl 64) I use Assassination for PvE and Subtlety for PvP.

In the beginning I used fiery weapon enchant but now I have +15 agi on both my daggers.
