Orgrimmar Progression?

Will we see orgrimmar progress and continue to build and finish as the expansion continue or will we see construction throughout the expansion?

IDK, was wondering the same. I would /wrists if the rest of the game was with Orgrimmar having scaffolding/cranes everywhere.

i only saw the crane in the front, and i figured it was just them trying to show off thier shadows and whatnot. but yeah the scaffolding looks dumb.

I think we will see Garrosh being Warchief before Cata launch.
At the start of the Cats launch event I hope we will see Thrall going away to his new "job" and leave Garrosh in charge of the horde and hopefully see the changes start to happen in Orgrimmar.

But as always, we have to wait and see.

Yea, I asked about this yesterday on the WoW forums with the hopes of getting a blue response and received nothing. Another person suggested that we will either be asked to help contribute to the construction and repair efforts, or that it will be phased out after you complete a quest. I think both options are highly likely.

It is very discomforting to see our largest city in a state of disrepair.

My guess is yes. There is a lot of buildings still under construction in Orgrimmar, and I highly doubt they will leave it that way throughout the whole expansion.

There's a few areas still under construction, which I could see finished up in a later patch. However the bulk of the changes will probably happen overnight with the release of patch 4.0.

This comment shows you have no clue. Currently on Live, Orgrimmar, much like Stormwind is one big WMO (World Map Object). That means there's no terrain under any of it, just a hole with the city placed on top of it.

In Cataclysm judging from the screenshots of Org and SW and WAAAAAH-NDA-WAAAAAH the cities are now positioned on actual terrain, whereas the WMO that used to be has been replaced by lots of smaller ones.

That means that they completely redesigned both cities, while having to keep in mind the boundaries and constraints of the existing gameworld (which it previously could ignore largely).

Reshaping Azeroth was quite alot of work and the SW / Org changes have possibly been the most time consuming of those.

Besides, I'll be damned if Orgrimmar get's done before the Exodar is fixed !

I think the reason we're likely to see it unfinished is for nostalgia's sake. One side of the front gate still has the old texture on it, and it's probably going to stay just to remind old players (and inform new players) of just how drastic the change is.
