Litepanels @ Curse springs to mind as a possibility, but it less user friendly due to it being configured entirely through Lua.
It has no interface.

Honestly, I've been tempted to replace kgPanels in my own UI with Litepanels (or just to code the frames into my "Tarybly Fiddly Bits" home-use addon *laugh*). Litepanels is really the only addon option for replacing kgPanels - it provides a simplification of frame creation in Lua code. That is, it's easier to make a panel via the Lua config in LitePanels than it is to code your own panels in Lua.

Litepanels is the way to go, i'd almost even go to such lengths to say that it's easier to use then kgPanels :P I used it for a while, but I never got the hang of how to import my own borders and what not, so I stoped using it, might give it a try soon :3
