    Talent Build Change - Unholy

So Ive been Gearing my new dinged 80 DK up to a decent standard, and ive read about the 17/0/54 unholy build and the 0/17/54 unholy build and i read that the better gear you have, you should change to 0/17/54
so i was wondering, when do i know to change spec?
    http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sh...cn=Demonstrike is my armory
any other Dk advice would be appreciated aswell =]

also, yes, its a retarded name, but i did it to make people rage.

Well, now to correctly answer you

if you have a proc weapon such as a brnytroll, go sub frost for icy talons and endless winter Str boost

for other weapons, ive seen people use the "proc" spec as stated above or go sub blood for shadows edge and such

Do you find it to be a problem that the uptime on your bone shield is only about 8 seconds, while UA and VB last for 20?

not at all, cause thats where parry and dodge come in lol, usally my bone shield will last, the great part is, boneshield also mitigates 20% of aoe damage without consuming a bone charge

Mufasax: Do you find it to be a problem that you respond to peoples threads w/o reading them or having any clue what they are talking about or asking for? Hint: he's not an unholy tank

Back on topic... You'd want to switch to the frost sub-spec when you get a proc weapon (Bryntroll or SM) or you're very well geared (25M HM). Until then, blood sub-spec will generally be better for you.

25 man hard mode? No no no. A proc weapon does help but it is not essential and as a vague boundary you'll want 4p T10 before you go sub frost. I suggest you use a simulator to check which will be ideal for you - I reccommend Kahorie's.

The best time to do this is when you have a mostly good mix of ICC 10 and 25 gear with either 4 piece t10 or 2 piece t10 and a proc weapon (or a proc weapon and 4 piece for that matter.)

The answer I like of when to switch is when the 4% more Strength and haste bonus will be greater for you than 4% more melee damage and 5% all-around crit, plus 9% more scourge strike crit.

I would normally make the switch when I have full T9-Badge or 2pcT10 and at least a beheader, but that's just me and I much prefer the lower burst, higher overall damage that 0/17/54 gives. Although if you want big fast damage and rollin' meters in heroics go DW frost.
