    If you want an example and before you say rogues who trinket saps are baddies, look up Akrios and Neilyo duels, its from BC (when PvP was more balanced imho) but it gives you an idea why rogues would do it

    That was tbc. In the current environment it rarely makes sense because you die in a single stunlock.

    The idea is to trinket the sap and blind you, then vanish as you trinket the blind, allowing them a full reopener.

    Works fairly often.
