“Snow can only live in the winter. When it nears a fire, it dies. That is its life. It may yearn for summer, but… it can only desire it. In my hand, the snow becomes water, because this is not its world….”“The boundless Heavens and Earth are the final resting place of all living things. Life is like a journey, filled with various scenery, various paths.

‘golden repair’, is the Japanese art of repairing pottery with gold or silver lacquer. The aesthetic philosophy focuses on imperfections rather than attempting to disguise them, with the intention that the piece becomes both more valuable and more beautiful because of its history and for having been broken.

Wasn't even my idea, it was my dad's, but I'm not arguing with that awesome picture.

I finally downloaded some software so that I can use a different background on each screen. I have my laptop then a 24inch acer monitor hooked up to it. On my laptop I use this, the 1927 Solvay Conference on Electrons and Photons, the last one to be chaired by Lorentz. He's the guy sitting on Einsteins right (left of Einstein as we look at it... just to avoid any confusion). Doing a science degree as it is, I find the picture pretty inspirational and important. My sister doesn't seem to understand why I want a picture of "old men and a grandmother" as my background. The fact she couldn't recognise Mme Curie scares the shit out of me.
For my 24inch monitor I use a photo that me and the then girlfriend took when we went to London Zoo over the summer. I fucking love meerkats and I have better pictures of them I've taken but this one worked well for a background.
