i've been mildly annoyed about this since i first saw these snails, honestly. it really gets to me that the characters we play in this game look like they are from a crash bandicoot game when compared to everything else in the world, unless you roll worgen or goblin. even the draenei and the blood elves look bad compared to the newest races now. they really need to up the texture quality a great deal, and perhaps smooth out the models. i'm not looking for anything radical, but i'd really like to see things brought up to the benchmark they've set with, you know, critters and random fish in cataclysm.

Character models would take to much time to update and there would be to much to change to what is already in the game, I can't see blizzard doing it. They might however increase the amount of detail on them.

It feels a bit late for them to do that now. Considering that they haven't mentioned any plans to do so yet, we can pretty much bank on no model upgrades for vanilla races to be in effect on release.
