Hey all.
I've been using the 8800GTS 512MB card since March of 2008. I'd like to upgrade for Cataclysm but not sure what to get. I want to stay under $200.
Would the ATI 4870 1GB be a worthy upgrade? I play at 1680x1050 resolution which is a 22" widescreen monitor.

marginal upgrade to be honest, 8800gts will be fine for most of early cataclysm and more on high

yea i just did a bit more research and it seems like the only noticeable upgrade would be like a 5850. Thats a bit out of my price range so it looks like im just going to wait.

I bought a HD4850 512mb and it's roughly same generation and i like it. I bought it to replace my dead 8800gts. IMO It's really not worth getting a next gen graphics card if you have previous gen CPU.

i recently switched my 8800gts for an HD5850. not too expensive, good performance ...no bad buy !
