    Any new pets?

Have they released any new pets for Cataclysm? I know the Worgens get a new one but what of each zone?

I'll not spend my days glancing over my shoulder for assassins. Let them look back for me. --Elbryan, the Nightbird.

Wow, thanks! I'd wish they would upgrade the older models as well, not to mention the old races. Thanks again! Hopefully they'll release even more.

They might. They said they haven't done their design pass on pets and pet talents yet, so who knows. In the pet department, I'm most excited that they are FINALLY homogenizing pets to where they are equal (Except for family abilities of course, but none of those are be all/end all like Wolves in PvE currently..) but talents dictate their "role". Now I can use my Skoll and not be slacking on DPS! (If BM isn't still a terrible spec, and from the looks of it, it isn't).

It's a shame that the Goblins pet isn't a unique pet like the new Worgen pet, seems a little unfair.

Again: They haven't done their design pass on Pets. The game is also nowhere near being released. I'm willing to bet that Goblins will have their own pet as well, especially considering they have a completely new model of pet (the Monkey) in their starting zone. I doubt the Mastiff will remain Worgen-only as well. There will be a way to tame one as a different race.

There are tameable mastiffs in Western Plaguelands IIRC.

The information I've found so far says that Mastiffs are Worgen-only, as they start with one.

I've seen a few posts in the official forums saying that the mastiffs in WPL are tameable. It's a pain in the butt to find anything in the forums though. >_>

Awesome. I figured they would put them in somewhere and not leave the Mastiffs to be Worgen-only, but from what I had read they weren't in-game yet as of the latest Build. I don't go to the WoW forums anymore because A. they are a cesspool nowadays and B. I actually got banned there awhile back..lol.

Does anyone know if these new pets are simply new models or are they whole new families with different abilities? Eg, will the foxes and mastiffs be classed as wolves and the monkeys classed as gorillas or no?

Foxes, and Mastiffs seem cool.... if it wasn't for the fact that we don't need any more wolves.

Monkey... why? Do we need it? Whatever...

But kinda sucks that thats the only things we are really getting. Sure, it's still the Alpha, but we got the Egyptian themed zone to work with, along with a few other things.

...also, I heard we were going to be able to tame Zebras and Giraffes!

I guess what we will be seeing in cata is no so much a wide range of new pets and new models, rather the fact that alot of the existing, once ignored pets will become viable to use and this will be more appealing to people.

I really like the how each family of pets will bring certain buffs and debuffs while not nerfing the hunters DPS. We are like the wild card now in 10 mans. I like feeling useful.
