Eastern Kingdoms Alliance flight map (still incomplete)

    500k, sorry Hosted on Imageshack.

    Notes:
    - Southshore flight path is still in game but chances are it will be removed before live.
    - Known flight paths at Hearthglen and Andorhal in Western Plaguelands not currently available (probably phased).
    - There's a flight path at the un-named goblin town on the Badlands coast, but no flight master yet.
    - A flight path links the Eastern Kingdoms to an island above the Shimmering Flats of Vashj'ir. It is useable to fly to the Eastern Kingdoms but not yet the other way (as you can see it doesn't appear on the map). It's due west of the Wetlands.
    - There's a seemingly one-way flight path from the Ironforge Airport to Gol'Bolar Quarry. No flight master but there is a gyrocopter you can jump in which immediately takes off.

Edit: A couple of relevant images. First is the as yet un-named Goblin camp on the west coast of Badlands. Not yet populated but a flight path is clearly visible. Second shows the flight map in-game for the doubters!

Thanks you so much for posting this. Are Boats active on Beta? I'm really interested in all the updates on travelling in Cata.

Why is Raven Hill east of Darkshire in this map? At the moment, Raven Hill is west of Darkshire.

Because I made a mistake. I'll correct it later when I've done the Kalimdor map.

Can you mark the flight points whether they're Horde, Alliance or Neutral, please?

These are Alliance flight paths. I don't have a level 80 horde so won't be doing those maps sorry.

Okay, thanks. Hopefully your work can be combined with some Hordie's work so we can get a full map with flight paths (:

I'm very curious to the Kalimdor map, especially if the Exodar finally has a flight connection to the main land...

  11. #11
It doesn't, at least not yet.

Is there a Kalimdor flight map thread yet? Or are you planning making one? This one is a nice compilation. Great Work.

Nice work! I must say though, I'm not a big fan of spraying flight points all over the map as I think it ruins the exploring part of the game a bit. Sure you'll have to discover the flight point first but with the changes made to riding skill and when you are able to obtain it a while back I don't really see the point.

To be honest, I think these changes are quite good. I still remember the horrible times of running from East to West and back in Ashenvale unmounted... it was quite boring. I wouldn't consider it exploring either.

Fair enough. I should have mentioned that I'm totally against it. New flight points were really called for in zones like Duskwood & Wetlands but 2 new FP's in Westfall and Redridge? Come on, that's just lazy .

I was actually very grateful for the new flight paths in Westfall. As you level up you gain new abilities and you have to go back to Goldshire to learn these. The flight paths made what would have been 10-15 min diversions into 2 minute detours. The flight paths seem to be well thought out, in that the new flight masters are exactly where you'll need them.

You may call it lazy, but long boring walks doesn't entertain anyone and might put off new players.
