    Will i notice a difference?

    Going from amd phenom 9850 quad core 2.50 to Amd phenom ii x4 955 ?

    I'll be using a 9800 gt as my gpu.

    This will be for wow.

    I went from a phenom x3 to a similar phenom 2 x3 (cracked to 4 cores). I have the same gpu as you do.

    I went from struggling at medium settings to running ultra.

    An excellent processor for the price. And yes, there will be a difference in performance for sure.

    It depends on the processor speed - anything above 2.5ghz will increase your fps by a fair amount. Eg 3.00ghz will give you a huge fps boost, if your graphics card is decent

    Don't discount architecture. A 3.0GHz i5/i7 blows away a 3.0GHz Phenom II. A 3.0GHz Phenom II blows away a 3.0GHz Phenom. Any of the above (barring the issue with first-gen Phenoms) blow away anything in the Athlon line.

    Yeah gonna grab the phenom II x4 955 anything above seems overkill

    I may be misinformed here but i think the processors are only compatable with other motherboards. Like you cant have intel on and AMD build or am i completely wrong?
